It's very early to do a review so I will update as time passes, but my initial reaction is WOW! Myself and my family just love this! No more smelly, frustrating waste basket! This can is attractive, as far as trashcans go. Lol. It completely controls waste odor and it holds a lot! My Hefty, tall kitchen trash bags are full when the bag is changed. The bag is fully enclosed within the can and is easy to change..taking less than a minute to remove the full bag and replace with a new one. The lid opens as expected. We do get some unnecessary opening, as it's near the door. I may change its location. The only downside is that it does show fingerprints prominently so it does need an occasional wipe down, but we have to touch so infrequently that this is not a problem. Our house doesn't have a lot of outlets, so we use the battery powered option. It's only been a couple of weeks, so I can't yet say how long the batteries last with ordinary use. I feel this is a much more sanitary option for my family and more convenient. I'm very happy, so far, with the performance of this product. It will start to close, every now and then, while I'm still discarding something, but will pop back up right away and is only a gentle tap..no need for concern. Totally safe for use with children and pets. One of my dogs was a former trash can invader who would periodically over turn & raid the trash can. 1 swat on the snout from the lid on this one has left her puzzled & discontented! Yeah!! We love this so much, I'm really crossing my fingers that it continues to work as well as it does now! My family is spoiled already and I have gladly said farewell to the old can! UPDATE: It's been more than a year since I purchased this item and I do not regret it at all. We did have a problem with the lid tearing up after a month and it took me another month to call as the customer service support line does close at 5 M-F & there's no evening or weekend staff however, I you can file a claim online so it's important to register your product. I had not done so, but the agent was wonderful. She emailed a site link and I registered. It was a very simple process. I wasn't made to wait. The agent simply checked with Amazon and verified my purchase and immediately shipped a new lid at no cost to me. We weren't even asked to return the old one! I was really impressed. The new lid has worked well, for the most part. It is quick to close but it does stop and reopen if need be. My only complaint is that the inside of the back piece that holds the batteries gets dirty so easily and potato peels or other debri can stick there. We don't have a garbage disposal so plates getting emptied and so forth leaves a mess that very quickly becomes unsightly so that requires frequent cleaning and with the little grooves at the top, it's not the easiest thing job either. I found that the easiest way is to press the open button so it stays open and then spray the area with vinegar & water and let it sit a couple of minutes. Then I wipe with a paper towel and usually repeat. I have replaced the batteries 3 times since we bought it, but I anticipate another couple of months use before needing to be replaced again. Ours gets frequent use, I might add. I would suggest buying the adapter if you have adequate outlets. Its kind of a pain if your batteries decide to quit suddenly and you discover that your hubby robbed your battery stash for the flashlight! 😏 All in all we're very pleased with our purchase and plan to order a small one for the bathroom! Guests are always asking about it and I feel it helps keep things sanitary in the kitchen. ... show more

Looks fantastic and was a hit with the family on the auto open and close factor. Don’t put any type of food waste in it. Not even a used paper plate. These filters cannot possibly be filled with what they say, because this trash can smells absolutely disgusting. We can now only use it for paper/plastic items or just replace it. ... show more

I now own 3 itouchless trash cans. This particular one I have owned since 2018 and it works extremely well. The only complaint I have is that I damaged the interior ring which helps to keep the bag in place and I can get a replacement but it costs $25.

I got my first one several years ago and I still use it today. Then when we moved into our home, I realized that I needed (or was it wanted) more and so I bought two more! They work fabulous! The only thing is make sure you buy batteries or the power cable because it does not come with them. I have gotten so used to them that I find myself waving my hand over my friends’ trash cans to get them to open only to realize that not all trash cans are so convenient! You do have to be mindful of how much you pack into the trash can because you could break the catcher for the filtration packet if you pack the thing too much! Never have I written a review or even had a story about a trash can. First of all, it has instructions, that are of no help! “Runs on 4D batteries(not included), use our adapter(not included), and our wonderful custom fit trash bags (also not included)! Next, it’s touchless! Cool, right?! No way?! Nope. Not the case. It only senses my hand when it wants to! When it does decide to open, it stays open for a really short three seconds. Just long enough for me to dump old leftovers into it before it starts to close and I splatter them all over the top! Since this little jerk trashcan has so much personality, I gave it a name, Jerald, no particular reason. When the sensor doesn’t work there are push buttons if you need. I push Open, it doesn’t open, I push Open, it still doesn’t open, so I manually open it, throw something away and push Close, it closes and then OPENS again! I don’t know if that’s a trash cans way of flipping someone off, but I took it as that! I imagine it had an evil smile on its face whilst doing so! Lastly, since there are no wonderful “custom fit” bags included, I use regular trash bags like any other trash can would need. Bad idea! Since the cab is tall and since I use the ForceFlex kind, they stretch to the bottom the more you fill it up. The more it fills up, the weaker the bag gets! Hence, pulling the bag out when it’s full, it RIPS! Yay! So then the whole thing needs to be lugged out to the dumpster. Next time I might accidentally let go of the trash can!! I give it 3 stars cuz it’s pretty PS it’s been 3 months and Jerald’s ($12) D batteries are dead! ... show more

My family & have been using this product for 4 days. First the good - I love the convenience of an automatic opening lid. I was cracking eggs & didn't have to worry about opening the lid or keeping my foot on a pedal to keep it open. It looks really nice in the kitchen with the other stainless steel appliances. I like the option it has to be able to keep the lid open longer (normally it closes after 6 seconds if you're not standing in front of it). What could be improved - regarding the option to keep the lid open longer, it auto closes after 5 minutes. It would be nice if it just stayed open until you pushed the closed button. It would also be nice if the opening were a little bigger. Also, I didn't realize it didn't come with a cord so that was a little disappointing. Luckily I had 4 D batteries but still plan to purchase the cord. ... show more

I love this trash can. This is my third. It is harder to get the bag out of the round can then the square. The top is the things that goes after a couple of years, but you can still use the can for something else.
