These are design to protect are hearing and that includes the volume level of they music you are listening to. They are not as comfortable as I would like but I give them five stars because they are more comfortable than any others I have owned.

Iโ€™ve had these for two years now and love them. The re-chargeable battery is long lasting and the ability to use AAA batteries make these super flexible. I use these religiously for lawn mowing and working in a hobbyists wood shop. Theyโ€™re comfortable, they hold up with sweat and I like the fact that they designed them to only play music at safe levels for your ears. The audio quality is good and the clarity during phone calls is the same. Weโ€™ve all used music to drown out loud sustained noises like a lawn mower before and these really take the cake for hearing protection! Would buy again and recommend to everyone. ... show more

They are great for noise reduction but basically useless to receive/have phone conversations due to the fact that people always say that there's wayy too much background noise.

First off, these deaden sound as good or better than the old 3m (not Bluetooth) ear protection I was wearing. The ear cups are comfortable and although I thought the vinyl cups might be too sweaty, they seem fine and since I build furniture also don't collect any dust so a definite plus. The cup openings are a little on the small side so if you have very large ears they might not fit well, but for me they are fine. The audio also sounds great, not like audio focused headsets for stereo or gaming, but much better than 3m work tunes. These also have a volume limiter (they say 85db but they seem quieter). I would prefer to decide that for myself, they're a little too quiet at max volume for my taste, but serviceable. The only thing that dropped them down 1 star for me was the headband. At the top they are a rubbery substance which is not too hard but with several protruding edges and don't have any sort of pad for the top of your head (it looks like it's made for one, but nothing there) , so I can feel the rubber edges on my bald head all the time. Annoying. If you have a thick head of hair you might not notice it so much but for me its bothersome. I'm going to make my own small piece of foam to go under the head and but they should have included something so simple and something virtually any decent headset would have. ... show more

    • Better Than I was Expecting
Edit: It has been weeks since I wrote the review below. In it, I make a complaint regarding their making safety glasses painful. It seems that this was unique to the brand of specialty glasses I was wearing at the time. They are perfectly compatible with some generic 3Ms that are passed out at work. I work in a metal fabrication plant around lasers, grinders, press-brakes, and automated punchers. I can freely traverse the entire building without fear of damage for theses headphones. The buttons on the right phone shell are perfectly "pressable" (even with welding gloves) and easily memorized. More volume would be nice. I'm an adult and how I damage my ears is my choice. That being said, the volume is, if I'm being completely honest, entirely enough and I am happy with it. I cannot speak much for range. Every main room of this building is separated by a metal wall, so it cuts off from room to room. Battery life is excellent. I can not say I've run it fully, but it has not died on a twelve hour shift with minimal pausing. There seems to be no 1/16" jack? Maybe I'm crazy, but this is an absolutely stupid thing to leave off of these. Although comfortable on their own, they squeeze all pairs of safety glasses I've used so tightly against the head so as to cause intolerable discomfort. ... show more

    • The 3ms are about the same quality and cheaper.
They are okay. Don't buy for the hype of other tradesmen being corporate hoes. They work- sounds is decent. But I mean they aren't ground breaking or anything special. And for the price maybe they should be since the 3m ear muffs are like $30 less. I found it hard to create muscle memory for adjusting the controls. Constantly would hit skip when I meant to press vol up. Also make a good deal with a hat on. But at the end of the day your "osha safe" and you can listen to music. So that's my two cents. ... show more
