Its a level. It does its job. But it does it very well, the machined surfaces are very flat and true and this feels like a much more expensive tool, everyone who has asked to borrow mine has remarked on how great it is and hand it back with a reverence you would expect of a much more expensive tool. Ive had Irwin items in the past, mostly hammers and non precision tools, but this one really solidified my belief in the brand.     • Has taken a beating and stays accurate
I needed a 12" Level to work on a massive block retaining wall. I like it better than a torpedo and use it in conjunction with my longer levels. As such, it is not uncommon for it to get knocked about on top of different blocks or rocks. It looks a little scuffed up now, but I check accuracy every couple of weeks and it is spot on. I was a little hesitant to buy online due to some of the reviews that state it is not accurate. But that seems to be the case on every level, so I went with this one based on price/overall rating. Not real earth magnets. Strip magnet, and it is glued on so hot day glue melts now I have a non magnetic level.

Amazing price for this level, Build quality is nice and defiantly does not feel cheap in your hand. I bought this to replace a 9" craftsman plumbing I have used for a few years now. One thing I want to mention that it states in the review is "Locking dial vial for easier reading of angles" but clearly shown in the picture are fixed bubbles. Although something like that would have been a small bonus that was not my purchasing factor. Also it does not state this but the bubble for vertical plumb with the yellow triangle around it has a mirror so you can view it straight on from the edge of the level. ... show more

    • Awesome little tool box sized level
Used this specifically for flattening all the odd surface edges to my desk I made. It held up and accurate job and provided me with a lot of hmmmmm moments while I was checking the level on various edges in my apartment haha. Great price for a straight edge

    • Strip Magnet, NOT rare earth magnets.
This 12 inch level does NOT have rare earth magnets despite the the description. The description of the product states, "Rare earth magnets are 5 times stronger than strip magnets..." This level has a disappointing and weak strip magnet.

Pitch vial was visibly crooked. Checked it against two other levels I had and verified it was inaccurate. This level should never had made it past quality control.
