Sturdy when assembled. Instructions were clear and parts were labeled. Went together smoothly. Only complaint is the plastic veneer chipped when pegs were screwed in. I ordered this bookcase for my home office as we just moved into our new house. It was fun to put it together, but the bookcase has a lot of parts, which luckily the instruction is well-written. I myself is a weekend warrior, and I fix my own cars, fix up all the things around the house. But it still took me almost 2 hours to put it together. The wood are of high quality compressed board. Not quite comparable to IKEA high end product, but definitely better than IKEA low end product line. I like it provides high quality metal cam lock (shown in the 2nd photo), which I haven't seen something like this for decades. Two things I don't like: 1. The size is much smaller than I thought. The product photos are deceived making you believe it is at least one size up. But keep in mind this bookcase is just about 1 ft taller than a normal average adult male, and you cannot fit any books that is larger than letter size in it. 2. The foot is just six foam pad with 3M tapes. So very likely they get worn over the time. I wish it uses some better footer, at least adjustable plastic screw caps. The size is the main reason I deduct one star as for this price point, I can almost get IKEA BILLY which is of better quality and better size. ... show more
