  • If you need a 10 gauge cord this is the one to get
Size: 100 Foot Color: Yellow
I'm not sure how to leave a review for an extension cord ... But here's mine. I'm going to write this review more for the average person... Not for an electrician or Tradesmen who knows exactly what they're looking for and why they need it. If you fall into that category here's all you need to know , you will not find a lower price 10 gauge hundred foot cord for Less. These are well made and last 4 years with outdoor use. For everyone else here's what you need to know, if you've ever flip the breaker when your air compressor turns on or pulled a Griswold and Plugged In Too Many Lights outside most people think it's the breaker but what causes the failure and ultimately damage to your equipment is using the wrong gauge wire. Gauge refers to the thickness of The Wire oh, a run-of-the-mill extension cord might be 16 gauge or 12 or 14 a 10 gauge wire is pretty close to industrial-grade. If you have even an average sized air compressor in your garage chances are it chugs a little bit when you turn it on it first and then it kicks on full boar. What's happening is electricity is not reaching the electric motor at its required rate and the motor is struggling to turn on. Believe me when I tell you this will burn out your expensive equipment. Having at least one 10 gauge extension cord accomplishes two things ... you protect your equipment at startup and you experienced far less line volt drop. The ladder is what happens when you try to run too many extension cords together , the wire just can't handle the distance and It ultimately affects your circular saw or whatever it is you're trying to use. I learned this the hard way on a $700 Pond de-icer years ago which is why I'm leaving this review. Had I known that the gauge of the cord would protect the electric motor I never would have bought " heavy duty" 12 gauge extension cords. Not spending $100 for the correct cord cost me $700 in equipment and then I had to buy the court anyway and a new deicer. Bottom line This is an excellent outdoor extension cord and it does exactly what the seller advertises. What they don't get into is why you need it and not everyone shopping on Amazon knows exactly what they're looking for. That's why we rely on reviews. Good luck ... show more

  • Drawing 12 amps through this continuously is not an issue.
Size: 50 Foot Color: Yellow
I'm using this to charge my Chevy Volt drawing 12 amps continuously. The cord is ice cold. No problem at all.

  • Used it to charge my Tesla Model 3
Size: 50 Foot Color: Yellow
I bought this Extension cord to charge my Tesla model 3 as the nearest Wall outlet is literally 49 feet away. I purchased the 50 foot cord, it is very thick, which is a good thing. I did get 1 kW charge, which is super super slow, but it does work. the Cord is highly durable and made well. 5 stars

  • Best customer service EVER!!!!
Size: 50 Foot Color: Yellow
I've been using this extension cord for about 5 months. I mostly use it for power tools like my circular saw, grinder and the like. Unfortunately after 5 months of trouble free use it failed me. For some reason it stopped supplying power, my guess is that something at the end of the cord (where you would plug the tools) came loose inside or perhaps there was a trouble with the blade to cable join. Anyway if I twist it a little it would power again. Needless to say it was no longer reliable. So I contacted Iron Forge Cable to explain the problem and submit my warranty claim. They asked me a couple of questions and then told me that a replacement extension cord was on it's way to me. The back and forth conversation was done via email but they responded WITHIN IN MINUTES of me sending the replies. In a day's time they confirmed they were sending me a new extension cord. They must have shipped them the same day cause I got it a couple of days later. Best customer support ever! They really stand by their products. Thank you! I'm a happy customer! ... show more

  • Excellent quality extension cord. Not made in China
Size: 50 Foot Color: Yellow
I'm very impressed with the quality of this extension cord. It is made in free Taiwan. Stamped on the cord itself is the UL listing. Also stating it is 10/3, (two conductors, plus ground) rated at 300 Volts, the cord not the plugs, the plugs are probably rated for 125 Volts, and this is normal. Most people purchase 10 AWG extension cords to reduce the voltage drop. I purchased this cord for an emergency standby generator where I want to keep voltage drops to a minimum. Bear in mind, with the plugs on this cord you are limited to 15 Amps, the thicker gauge wire is about reducing the voltage drop, not about exceeding 15 Amps. Both ends are of good quality. Texas has its own very reliable electrical grid, frequently selling to other states. So the power is very reliable here, but of course nowhere do you have 100% reliability. Now that I am fully prepared, I know the utility power will never fail. ... show more

  • Heavy duty wiring but cheap plugs on each end
Size: 25 Foot Color: Yellow
This has very heave duty wiring inside of it. I know because I cut then ends off and put my own ends on it. I wasn't happy with the plugs on either end. The male side wouldn't stay into outlets very well. Overall, I am happy with the thickness and price, just not the ends they put on it. Probably would be fine for most uses but I didn't want it damaging my generator so I had to put ends that held into place more firmly... ... show more

  • 10 .... out of 10 for gauge 10.
Size: 25 Foot Color: Yellow
grand, i am using it for welding so the duty cycle asked is low . If i were to run some big heater through it i could give it a full test, but for my needs picking this gauge allows me to run 20 foot without worrying about bends/overheating.. My welder will cut out before this line gets hot.

  • Heavy duty high quality item for high amp loads
Size: 25 Foot Color: Yellow
Very nice quality item. Cable surprisingly compliant for the heavy wire gauge. Am using it to power a portable air conditioner in a room that I am temporarily using as a home office as all receptacles in room already loaded with computers, printers etc. Cable runs cool, very pleased
