After having two separate radio head units installed, both offering CarPlay, the option of CarPlay was greyed out and unusable. I tried several different cords and some research. Finally, I came across the suggestion that it needs to be a “CarPlay Compatible cord”. I ordered this item, skeptical if this would actually solve my issue, lo and behold CarPlay popped right up! These are decent charging cables if you're looking to spend less money than the Genuine Apple Lightening cable. They seem to work fine so far, and after about 1 month of use, they're still working as expected. I'm not rough on my charging cables; I try to use them in the same fashion as best I can, and don't often coil or wrap them up, so they usually work for a longer duration.
