  • Improved Velcro leg design
Style: Solarpowa 100
**Update July 2023** Used these alongside the glass DIY suitcase in the Southwest desert camping areas for 6 months, and they performed very well. Consistently brought in 70-80 watts each, even when getting very hot in the sun. Found out early on not to leave them up on the stands if any wind gusts can happen. The first day using them was in 30 MPH gusts and both got some gashes in the ETFE from the desert rocks after they were blown onto their faces. (Did not affect performance in any perceptible way.) This is where the glass DIY suitcase panel outperformed, but only because I could stack 20 or more pounds of rocks on the legs to avoid movement in high winds. Learned how to stack rocks on these flexible panels to allow use in 20-25 MPH winds regularly, and found I could keep them flat on the ground for crazy windy days. Since these are lighter, and easier to set up and repack in the car than the glass panel, I found myself relying on these much more often. Very impressed with the durability and ease of use. **Original Review** 24 volt version. Use only with MPPT if not using with BigBlue solar generator. If using PWM, get the 12V version. Competes very well with 2 Glass 50 watt panels in series. Pictures show wattage for each, and then swapped the charge controllers for reference. Much lighter than glass panels but will get blown over in desert wind. New leg design has strap management and Velcro instead of snaps. Very nice portable panel. Will update review after heavy use. ... show more

  • Met my expectations
The panel is well packed when shipping to us , no serious defect but the velcro is curled up and unable to close firmly. (So minus 1 star for this) The panel work fine , it able to charge my little power station perfectly at a cloudy day. I don't know is it possible to fully charge a bigger power station. But it still met my expectations. The size is very compact , very easy to carry around. But because of it's foldable design , it unable to stand upright and facing towards the sun on it's own , it is the only concern. ... show more

  • Full 100W charge for my power station
The media could not be loaded. Yesterday we had full sun ... I mean still only March, but not much clouds and it was charging with about 100W constantly so on my 750 Wh power station the charge level increased by more then 10% per hours, which was really amazing to look. For charging I've just used the included standard DC cable and so no adapters or other cables were needed. So for me it's the perfect travel companion to charge all my equipment. I've also tested the 60W PD and it showed full compatibility. I've never had such a small 100W solar panel. That's the first one I really can carry with me. If course it's too heave to carry it all day long in a backpack, but is OK for shorter trips and it needs much less space in my car, is easier to store and I can even take it with me on my motorcycle. The build is quite sturdy and I haven't found any flaws from the manufacturing process. It takes just a few seconds to unfold or fold again and it comes with a nice protection around and a Velcro strip to lock it inside the pouch. When open, the pocket with the controller and the adapters are on the downside, but it was never a real problem to still access everything. The panel are thick and sturdy but still bendable - especially the connector parts - so it fits nicely on almost every surface like even a beach chair so it can be directed perfectly into the sun to have more efficiency. ... show more

  • It works fine for charging low-power devices like phones and e-readers
Style: SolarPowa 36
I tested it yesterday on a Kindle Paperwhite on which the battery had been run all the way down. After 2.5 hours of mid-afternoon sun, the Kindle was charged up to 84%. That's about all I'd ask of a solar panel array that I got for under $50 (on sale on Amazon). As for the construction, the materials used (aside from the solar panels themselves) look very robust and capable of protecting the solar panels when the array is folded. Having a rubber cover for the three USB ports is a nice touch. The included USB cable looks serviceable (it's what I used to charge the Kindle) and the four included carabiners would enable strapping this array to the outside of a backpack for charging-while-hiking (sun angle permitting). It was a bit odd that the ports faced away from the closest edge, since they're on the underside of the panel when it's open, but that wouldn't really matter so long as you're not planning on using a 6" or shorter USB cable. ... show more

  • Kept things charged in rainy weather.
I was trapped by weather at a remote lighthouse with some friends for several days. Although it was cloudy and rainy, this panel still put out a continuous 10 watts, which with 10 hours of daylight was enough to keep several phones and a laptop charged with moderate to heavy use. It did an awesome job. The panels themselves are pretty much waterproof, and the electronics that isn't waterproof is in a pouch that closes up to keep water out. So it was possible to just put a power bank in it and leave it charging out in the rain. One thing to beware of is that an older power bank got fried by it. I think that it was because I'd plugged it into the USB-A port that can do quick charge, and with some intermittent light the solar panel got confused by the quick charge handshake and put out 9volts, which is too much for an old power bank. So make sure you plug older equipment into the USB-A that's limited to 5 volts. ... show more
