The media could not be loaded. ***UPDATE*** SEE VIDEO ATTACHED TO DELFLATE!!! (Guess I’m now the most popular customer!) I purchased this a couple of days ago for a car plane. If you’re unfamiliar, a “car plane” is a C17. Once at altitude, you can roll out a sleeping bag and sleep. So it arrived today, and I wanted to give it a thorough review, especially since I’d be laying on it on a plane (hardest surface): 1. Came in a long box. Idk if that was Amazon’s doing or not but slightly unnecessary. 2. I didn’t show a pic comparison, but I am 6’2. Standing side by side, it was a little above my knee, so great width. 3. Has a carrying bag with a sling. Clutch for walking across tarmacs. 4. Also has 2 individual elastic bands, one for each end to keep it rolled. However, I can see these quickly stretching out. 5. After initially unrolling it, you can see how thin it is before opening the valve. One would assume that it’ll deflate back to this form. I’ll get to that. 6. The valve was really secured, which is great, but be mindful when opening it the first time. Pull too hard at the wrong part and you’ll need more than a patch. 7. Speaking of patch, tucked away in the center of the rolled up mat were two (2) white square patches. They have basic instructions on one side. The other has a clear film covering the sticky side. Without knowing this, one could unknowingly throw them away. DON’T!!! 8. Description said “25 seconds to inflation”. Yeah - FALSE! After opening the valve, I timed it. After 5 minutes, it was nowhere near full inflation. I could still see all the wrinkly lines from when it was initially vacuum sealed. But not a big deal. Blow into the valve like a beach ball. 5 - 10 good blows got me to my last photo. I could tell there was still some room left but those breaths actually helped and I could hear it self-inflating some more. 9. Now the fun part - HOW THE HELL DOES THIS THING DEFLATE?!?!?! I am 6’2, 230 lbs. I read the responses to the same question. Rolled the mat as best I could toward the valve and laid on it. 10 minutes later, no air released, no sound made, and it’s still at the same thickness! *MIND BLOWN* If you figure this out, you’ll be the most popular customer of this product lol! Overall, once to full thickness, VERY comfortable. Laying on my back, I couldn’t even tell I was laying on the ground. ... show more

    • Pad itself is good, bag not so good.

The pad itself is great for even side sleeping. You can manually inflate by blowing if you want it more firm but I prefer the normal fill. For comparison, I bought a different brand at "3 inches" and they are equally comfortable. Comes with repair in case of puncture. The one negative is the bag. I bought two of these and the carry bags were different. One failed by third use and that one was stitched between the seams of the bag. As the seams tore, out came the strap as well. The other bag, the handle was stitched on the bag where the seem is so if the seam tears, the strap acts as a prevention for further tearing. This other bag is a better design but still too tough and time consuming to put the pad back in as it's exact fit. The other brand pad comes with a larger bag and putting back in was much easier. I would recommend this company to make the bag a bit bigger for ease of taking in and out of the bag and it would make it less prone to tearing. ... show more

Bought this just under a year ago. Have taken it out on several car camping trips, in cold and hot weather. I'm 5'7" and about 210 lbs. I built a sleeping platform for a Rav4, for two people and this pad fits just right. The low profile works well as its firm enough to have a restful sleep yet not so thick that I feel I am sleeping in a coffin. I have slept both with the valve open and closed. Closed offers the right firmness for me, but my wife prefers open as its a little softer. The pad does not have that weird plastic mattress feel like other pads, it breathes enough where you don't sweat or feel uncomfortable. Only grip is the carry bag. The strap started to tear off on day one, and finally tore off on my last trip (1 year later). The sewing is to blame, cheap string??? Despite the bag issues, I LOVE this mattress. I tend to sleep on my side as well, and the foam provides enough support and comfort for me. I highly recommend this product. Please fix the storage bag. I was really worried when I lifted the mattress from the bag strap and heard the sewing start tear on the first day. Not a good first impression. But having used it several times over the year, its definitely worth it. ... show more
