I rely heavily on customer reviews and compose mine with that in mind. My purchase of this watch was the result of a lot of investigation, comparison, and interviews. I wasn't sure this was the watch for me, but Amazon's price was too good to pass up. Now that I've had the watch 2 days, I can say without reservation that I LOVE it. It is a classy yet sporty watch. To me the watch face is timeless (no pun intended). Previous to my purchase of this watch, my wife had been telling me it was time to get a "man's" watch implying that my cheapy Casio needed to be retired. She suggested this watch. She made a good choice. Now on to some specifics. Firstly, I uploaded a number of pictures, so take a look at them as well as the comments. I'll reproduce some of the comments here. The actual measurements of the watch are: 43 mm wide, and 12 mm thick. I've read all kinds of measurements everywhere else on the Internet, but I am confident with my measurements. For what its worth, I measured the circle of the watch face, and that measurement alone is 38 mm. And I also measured how far the largest button (the center one) protrudes past the circle, and that measurement is 5 mm. So again, the total outside measurement at its widest point is 43 mm. Also, while shopping for this watch, I noticed that a number of pictures made the watch face appear gray, not black. In reality, the face is glossy black. The reason the watch face appears gray in certain photos is because of the "texture" on the watch face. I think the texture adds a lot of character, and depending on the angle, the texture is more or less pronounced. Overall the watch feels hefty, but not excessively so. It truly feels solid. The stainless steel casing and band is eye-catching. Again, depending on the angle, the watch may shine more brilliantly because of the various stainless steel components. As for resizing the band, that wasn't difficult at all but note that there are no instructions on how to do that. I simply found a few videos on Youtube. You'll need some basic tools (essentially a very very skinny nail, slightly thicker than a needle, a small hammer, and small pliers). Note that the stock Amazon picture of this watch doesn't match the one I bought. There are some slight, and probably meaningless differences. Firstly, the Invicta symbol on the watch face, at the top, is not a flat white imprint, but it is a fine outline. As for the numbers around the outside bezel, on mine they are embossed, the font is narrow and small, whereas on the Amazon stock photo they appear to be thick and stamped or printed on the surface. On Amazon's photo there is a small cutaway on the outside bezel. Mine has no cutaway, its a full complete unbroken ring all the way around. The hands on my watch are not as thick as the ones in Amazon's picture, but they are still very easy to see. And lastly, the window opening for the date on my watch is closer to the edge whereas on the Amazon photo it retreats ever so slightly more towards the center of the watch. I definitely prefer the version I have vs. the one illustrated by Amazon. And I hope this review is helpful and if you end up buying this item I hope you enjoy it. I paid full price; no discounts. ***UPDATE*** Over 5 years later; still works like a champ every day.

A beautiful, classy watch that gets noticed very often. I am used to larger watch faces (42-48mm), but this wears very well on my 8" wrist and is easy to wear with a long sleeve dress shirt or jacket. An homage to the "R-brand" Daytona. Very nicely made. A beautiful timepiece. Too bad they engraved "INVICTA" on the side of the watch case.

Se ajusta hermosamente en la mano, no es ni muy pesado, ni muy ligero, es cómodo, el color y acabado brillante le da un toque expectacular, lujoso 100%. Siempre quise este reloj y estoy muy feliz al tenerlo, era lo que esperaba, una belleza, funciona perfectamente, lo recomiendo. La correa es muy fácil de ajustar no dió mucho lio. El único detalle que notarán y es porque está nuevo es que es broche que asegura que no se salga el reloj de la muñeca es un poco duro, pero no es nada grave con unas gotas de aceite o simplemente el uso se suaviza un poco. Por lo demás este reloj es oro puro. Parece un Rolex y por el precio que pagué 79 $ una ganga, se ve mejor que un reloj de 1000 $ lo recomiendo ampliamente no se van a arrepentir. Tremendous watch, a beauty, looks like a watch of thousands of dollars, color, weight, brightness, detail you have, the belt, the metal case clock, buttons, everything is beautiful. It fits beautifully in the hand, is neither too heavy nor too light, comfortable, glossy color and adds a spectacular, luxurious 100%. I always wanted this watch and am very happy to have it, what I expected, beautiful, works perfectly, would recommend. The strap is very easy to adjust not yield much trouble. The only detail that notice and because it is new is that the clasp that ensures no out wrist watch is a bit hard, but it's nothing serious with a few drops of oil or just use softened a bit. Otherwise this clock is pure gold. Looks like a Rolex and for the price I paid $ 79 a bargain, looks better than a $ 1,000 watch I highly recommend it not going to regret it.

I've had 2 people guess over twice what i paid for it. Looks way more expensive than it actually was. The dial is a little harder to read as quickly as some timepieces. I had to take out 2 links in order to get the correct fit but that's par for the course with me. It's also a little big compared to what size watch i usually go with. So its more like a watch you wear out every so often. But it's sure to catch peoples eyes. Overall a really good buy so far. I'll check back in a few months to let you all know how its holding up after a little time has gone by.

I’ve been very impressed with my mens Invicta watches recently purchased. I’m not attracted to the really big 48 mm types, partly because I’m slim and don’t have large wrists. But as a very active guy who works with my hands the big size, thickness and weight just don’t feel comfortable I don’t like them being in the way. The 40 mm range Invictas with screw down crowns are my choice and have several automatics and quartz that I enjoy without big fear of water damage in common daily use. This Speedway with the black face is even more handsome than I had imagined. I don’t need the stop watch, although it does work! My others are all classic Diver types and my first favorites. This Speedway works great with long sleeves since the bezel slopes down and doesn’t get hung up on cuffs with the cooler weather on the way for warmer clothes. Especially for the price and with all 3 crown and both start and stop/reset buttons being screw down to lock out water! This one is quartz so it’s really accurate and slimmer than my automatics too. My new “go to” of the crew for now! Very sharp and classy.

I wanted a good looking, long lasting watch with some heft to it and this watch delivered along with the other two Invictas I purchased. I was attracted to Invicta because of the style, size, and low price but was concerned about quality since you get what you pay for. With Invicta, you're not paying so much for a name brand but you definitely get a great value in terms of style and quality. Time is still accurate over a year later (may have lost or gained a few seconds but it's still within the correct minute) and the watch handles day to day life well - I work in an office though so there's not too much rugged treatment (I take it off when I sleep and take a shower so I've never tried it out in water). Only gripe is that after the first few minutes of it glowing brightly in the dark after removing it from light, the lights become extremely dim and are difficult to see in the dark. I have to hold it right up to my eyes to tell what time it is. Not too much of a drawback though since I don't need time telling capability in the dark that often. Overall, for me, great watch at a great price.

I really like this watch and use it everyday. The metal band is important (to avoid bad smell of cloth / leather), fits comfortably. I like the elegant black background. The important features for me were being able to see the hands at night, and this performs much better than the previous Invicta which I'd used - the hands do glow nicely at night - and having a stopwatch feature - which is nice so I can use it for coaching or running without having to swap out watches; fits well for shirt and tie during the school day as a teacher - and also for athletic use for coaching after school. The buttons do offer the water proof part (have not tried using it for diving or in water - as I see little point in the risk . . .and when accompanying divers have dive computers with far more information...), so you need to unscrew the buttons in order to use the stopwatch feature, but that is easy enough. Easy to change the date for those months that don't have 31 days, and has been working very well for the past 8 months or so.
