Good lathe. Other than the fact that the top slide is very sloppy. Will be off anywhere from .02-.12 of a mill Deion cut length. Tightening everything helped get me to the .02-.12 of a mill point. It was worse before.

I am a novice in metal working. Bought this lathe for fun, learning and some DIY projects. The lathe size is good, unit works well, huge learning curve but I have cut aluminum and steal with no issues other then my lack of experience. I did try cutting threads on a small project but was unsuccessful due to my lack of experience. There were some adjustments needed to improve accuracy and some quality issues such as stripped sheet metal thread, paint, documentation, etc. I have a bout 10 hours on the lathe and it seems to be durable but time will tell. The media could not be loaded. As many people know, who are in the market for one of these imported lathes, it can be shot in the dark going with a company that isn't backed here in the US. However, I took a chance with this seller and I couldn't have been anymore pleased. This lathe seems to have everything I need and was packaged extremely well. Fully supported with Styrofoam in every square inch of the crate. Chip pan was 100% straight with no bends or dings. The only issue I had, was that I didn't take the panels off to inspect the wiring meticulously to make sure nothing came loose during shipping. I advise you do so, because a wire from the direction switch had come lose and contacted the inside of the machine, shorting out the motor driver board on first start up. But, this is where I can comment on the customer service. I contacted this seller and explained the issue, and they overnighter a replacement board to me no questions. I popped it in, wired it up, reconnected the loose wire where it was supposed to go (I went ahead and put ferrules on every wire that went into a screw terminal while I was at it to prevent something like this in the future.) plugged it in, fired it up and everything is working as it should be. I am really satisfied with this purchase and even more with the fact that the customer service was absolutely excellent. Buy with confidence. ... show more
