I researched and determined this paddle would be the right length for me. I am 5’7”. Got a longer paddle with different shaped blades and comparable price from another source for my 6’ tall husband. He was so much faster than me out on the water yesterday. I asked to trade paddles. Once I was using his paddle I was the lead kayak the rest of the day! I never traded back... At the end of the trip he said, “I hate these paddles!” I must agree. These paddles say they have soft hand grips but they are almost non-existent compared to the cushy grips on the other longer paddle. I am a novice kayaker, so I don’t know if the shorter length paddle explains how much harder and slower it was to paddle or if it is the shape of the blade. All I know is neither of us wants to use this paddle again! This paddle breaks down into smaller parts than the longer one, so if that’s important to you, maybe you would like this one. Update: I like the paddle, the blade is a little less firm than I would like, when pushing off the side of a bank it bends what could be considered a healthy amount, I personally appreciate a more firm blade for that reason. The handle bar/shaft is decent slightly uncomfortable after a long float but for the price I still think this is a great paddle and would be perfect for a beginner!     • Definitely worth for $15, for $30 there might be better options
I got two of these paddles for less than $15 each at one point. For their price, if you aren't some kayak-enthusiast, they're unbeatable. With that said, I now see they're priced upwards of $30. For that much there are probably some better paddle options on the market.

I can not believe the fluctuation in pricing. These blew my mind for the price. I love that they break down, much better than being in my face when driving. They are light, strong and easy to put together
