As suggested, filled it in advance, then added a little more air before sleeping on it. Did not have to add more air. 2 adults and a small dog slept comfortably on it. It was far better than prior experiences with air mattresses in the past; it was much more comfortable and firmer. I bought this mattress in July 2020. No issues. I see a lot of complaints about the mattress losing air. The plastic material stretches with use, that's why it feels like its losing air. If it loses a little bit of air, just pump it with an electric or batter pump for a few seconds or until your desired firmness. With that being said, try not to over pump it, as you run the risk of popping it. I rarely have to repump it, but when I do, it's just for a few seconds. Another thing is maintenance. Personally, I stand my mattress up every day, to get it out of the way and to avoid using it for anything other than sleeping. Treat the bed with care and it can last you a long time. ... show more

Used this for a month straight sleeping in a tent. Lost a bit of air towards the end of the trip but never ended up flat on the ground- just had some squish to it. I used the suggested air pump that runs on batteries and filled it up a little when needed. Hopefully it will last in the box in a storage unit until the next field season next summer. Comfy, durable, and the air loss could have been due to the insane weather temp fluctuations. Would buy again. ... show more

This is a great mattress for the money. It’s comfy enough and with an added topper it’s as good as a real bed .I’ve been in process of moving and have slept great on this mattress and it retains air very well. I’ve taken this on two camping trips so far it’s stayed inflated the entire night. However, it’s really not comfortable. I wake up with soreness and body aches. I think I prefer to sleep on a sleeping pad.

We bought this air mattress when my some of my husband's family was travelling to visit us. After a couple nights sleeping on the mattress my brother-in-law asked what kind of mattress it was because he was surprised that it hadn't really deflated. When I told him it was just from Amazon he said that it did better than this fancy name-brand air mattress they got for $300 or more. He had done all the research to find a really GOOD mattress, and my simple Amazon one did better! Anyway, that was the first time we used the air mattress. Purchased this air matress to replace the failing one on my coleman queen cot. It fit perfectly, and held air better than the coleman air matress ever did. Slept on it for 4 nights in a row during a music festival and never had to air back up once.
