    • A terrific air mattress vs my issue with the pillow rest

I bought this air mattress as a replacement for a sad, disappointing purchase of a new hybrid mattress, which I had to return because it was just too uncomfortable for me to sleep on. Since the modern hybrid mattress comes tightly bound in a box, it's a really big deal to have to return/refund. But since Amazon is amazing, I was helped over that hurdle. But it also prompted me to question whether I should take another chance on a "bed in a box." My brilliant idea was to replace the standard mattress (hybrid, foam, inner springs, etc.) with a contemporary air mattress. After researching the subject, Intex emerged as one of the best. I chose the 10-inch high Dura-Beam Standard in full size. I especially appreciated that it came with an enclosed electric pump. However, I ended up not keeping it. Why did I not keep it? First, it was immediately obvious that it was not suited for my bed frame with headboards. The built-in pump protrudes about two inches beyond the mattress edge, and this interferes not only with the placement of the mattress but also the movement of the mattress during sleep. Second, it had the "pillow rest," which did not make for a comfortable sleep, at least for me. Perhaps others might find that feature to be a plus, especially in a camping situation, but for me it made sleeping with a traditional pillow very uncomfortable--I ended up having to scoot down and dangle my feet off the end of the mattress to escape the discomfort of the built-in pillow rest. But, hey, that's just me. I did not give up on Intex, which is a reliable brand for this type of product, nor did I abandon the idea of sleeping on an air mattress as my main bedding. (After all, I'm old enough to remember the venerable water bed!) So I ordered a new bed frame, sans the headboards, and a new Intex air mattress (also with built-in electric pump) but without the built-in pillow. Still, I have to give the Intex Dura-Beam Standard Pillow Rest Air Mattress the full 5 stars. It is durable, the pump performs flawlessly, and (aside from my personal issue with the built-in pillow) it really is a comfortable mattress to sleep on. At no time was I ever concerned about any loss of air, or any fragility in the material. I can still recommend it. ... show more

We bought this air mattress to place on a bed frame while we were waiting to purchase a new mattress at vacation home. We used it for three days and it was very comfortable. We bought the queen size and it was fine for the two of us. It was easy to set up and took about 3 minutes to inflate to a very good firmness. The pump seems very powerful and nice to have it built in. When we deflated it using the pump to deflate, it took approximately 1-2 minutes, and it deflated extremely flat. I was able to just fold and roll it back up and put back in box for storage. Our queen size sheets fit well. We noticed a little softness the second day, but the instructions stated that the vinyl would stretch a bit, and it might need to be inflated with some more air. I would definitely recommend this air mattress due to it's quality and price. ... show more

Price: $40 after Tax April 2022 Shipping: Free shipping as per usual, Literally only took 48 hours from the time I hit the order button and time of arrival. It arrived at my home while I was at work. Packaging: Came in it's original box, taped from end in Perfect condition All contents included? All documents and cables were included in the box. Ease of Installation: Took the bed out of box, unrolled it, plugged it in and held it in the air, Was full of air and ready to be used within 1 minute or two I'd say. Although I will say the wheel part that you turn was a little jarring at first but then again I was just coming off a 8 hour stress filled day at work. Comfortable? Comfortable indeed, the size of this one was a Queen and is lifted 10 inch's which is almost enough for a 5 foot 8 person to stand without aching almost. Bed also has a Pillow rest which is basically a extra padded area at one end of the bed. Could use it as pillow rest or even a foot rest. Worth the price? I paid 40$ bucks and free shipping ,this can not be beat. This bed is easily worth double. A person could order 2 and put them together for one Huge gigantic bed or put it on top of the other for extra height. My 40$ was well spent on this. Would you recommend? I'd highly recommend anyone on a tight budget who just wants a simple bed they can lug around, Great for? This bed is great for Camping, Taking to your loved one's house, Star gazing. It's comfortable as long as it has air. Unfortunately, the air leaks on this due to poor design. the inflator sits in a slot that opens straight into the mattress. Yhe air leaks slowly around this connection. Also, the dial switch that is for inflating/deflating, is not secure so it slowly gets jostled with each movement until it too is releasing air. this mattress requires a standard electrical outlet. ... show more

Purchased this air mattress for camping. It might be the best one I've ever had. Inflated it once, used it for 3 consecutive nights with large temperature changes between day and night, didn't add any air, and didn't wake up with my butt on the ground once! I could tell it stretched out because it definitely didn't feel as full as it did at first, which is normal, but I didn't need to put more air in to keep up off the ground. It's actually the size of a queen bed, not the smaller version you usually get with air mattresses. It has a built-in pump which requires electricity, and also has a manual inflate valve for a foot or battery pump. I used the built-in pump with a car power adapter. Worth noting that it is too large to fit a queen camping cot. It doesn't fit in the "pocket" and is too big to just rest on top - because it's actually queen sized. ... show more

I am impressed!!. This was ordered as a temporary fix while my son is setting up his apartment and so far, I have no complaint. The pump is a bit noisy but quickly works to fill the bed, the bed holds in air amazingly well and for a bed filled with air, or is quite comfortable to sleep on.

That’s how long it lasts. This is why the reviews are so polarizing. Those who say it’s great are correct. It’s great for a short while. Convenient, good thick material- and comfortable, right size, compact, able to be rolled and put away. But that lasts about two months; but after that you will wonder where the hole is and possibly not find it. There isn’t always a hole. For us, there was no hole. It just leaks air through its own mechanism and it deflated quickly. Even when it isn’t on that setting. Suddenly, it just began to leak. It wasn’t mishandled, no max weight, no rough handling, it has a protector on it and is on a poke-free surface. Still began to delete at a rapid rate suddenly. ... show more
