  • Perfect for small dogs
This little doohickey is super neat and very well made. The fleece toy for the dog to chase is nice and soft, and long enough that it drags along the ground. The connection to the line is all rope, with a smooth plastic sheath over the end to prevent fraying - no harsh metal pieces the dog could accidentally chomp on and get hurt. The length is perfect - once you screw the handle together, it forms a cohesive line that is long enough to glide smoothly over the ground. I could see a bigger dog need a longer handle, but for a small dog (under 15/20 pounds) this is the perfect length. I can spin it in a circle and let the dog run in a wide arc, letting him catch it occasionally. I like to use it to teach the drop it command, and practice a few simple tricks before letting him chase it again. This is clearly very fun for him and I will definitely use it to help expel some of his extra puppy energy. ... show more

  • Perfect for an energetic puppy.
The media could not be loaded. I just got a new puppy, who has a very high energy level. If is cold where I live, but we don’t need to go outside for all of the exercise this dog needs. I can keep him entertained for quite awhile. Also, the item is very sturdy. I do not see this breaking anytime soon due to the high quality. It might be a little bit more expensive than many toys, but It won’t break easily and can wear a puppy down very effectively. ... show more

  • 40 minute walk cut in 20 min
The flirt pole toy is a great way to burn off your dog’s energy quickly—perfect for busy days when you need a fast play session. It’s engaging, fun, and really gets your dog moving. The two-part handle can sometimes come apart mid-play, which is a bit frustrating, and you do need to watch your dog closely to prevent any leg injuries when they change direction quickly. Still, with supervision, it’s a super effective toy for high-energy pups. ... show more

  • Dog's favorite toy - good but could use some improvements
Well this is what the toy looks like after 18 days of playing with a 3 month old Belgian Malinois mix puppy who weighs about 30 lbs. This is his favorite toy! I just run it along the ground in front of him so he can chase it. He plays tug o war as well. It's pretty beat up after about 3 weeks of usage - maybe 15-30 minutes a day. The pole and rope *(see more below) is very strong. I don't care for the ergonomic part of the grip and find myself never aligning my fingers in it so I just hold below it. As others have mentioned the middle of the pole can come loose while playing but it hasn't been annoying enough for me to put locktite on it, I just tighten it every few minutes by hand. It would be better to have saved money on design and used a normal grip and add another replacement fleece rope to the package instead. It's kind of heavy too but I guess that's what makes it strong - it bends like a fishing pole when he pulls on it sometimes but only about an inch or so of curvature, it doesn't feel like it would break. The fleece rope toy portion isn't too delicate but once it starts to lose it's form it unravels quickly which is why I think the kit should include 2 for the cost. Replacements are available for a reasonable price (2 for $12.99) and I've ordered a few spares. I'm a little concerned about the rope loop that appears to be stitched together and then covered with a plastic shrink wrap of sorts. The plastic on mine has started to become shredded and will likely come off soon. It's hard to see from the angle that the rope is facing in the pic I took but you can see where the plastic is damaged and it's way worse on the other side of the rope where it only has about 50% coverage remaining. It looks like the stitching is pretty good though so hopefully the plastic isn't the main structural component of the rope loop. Decided to add a pic of the rope loop damage and stitching for reference. If your dog doesn't play fetch or even if they do I still recommend this toy. ... show more

  • Well made & fun for dogs that love chasing
The media could not be loaded. Our JRT LOVES this toy! You can use it indoors if you have enough space, but we've been using it in the yard. It gives you better leverage & arm length to really give your dog something to chase without having to move too much yourself, if you're not so inclined. It's solidly made and can take a beating. I'm not sure how big a dog could use it - would be curious to see. We especially like that the braided fleece part is removable & washable Excuse the dirty knees & yard - we were doing outside work 🫣😂 ... show more

  • Durable but comes apart
Great toy, dogs loved it and the pole and tassel lasted with even larger breeds and rough play. Only downside is the pole comes apart since it screws together and while playing multiple times it’s come detached

  • Expensive but worth it!
Expensive but worth it! Solidly built and made to last. Kinda like fishing for dogs. My pup loves to chase the provided lure (there are replacements and other types available from the manufacturer). The lures aren’t made as chew toys to leave unattended with your dog, but are long lasting. I still have the original on after several months. I’ll probably try some of the other lures once this one wears out. ... show more
