  • Not really an upgrade from the i3-10100
Style: Processor 6 Cores
I was thinking this would be a good upgrade from the i3-10100. It's basically the same and bottlenecks an RTX 3050 GPU bad. Guessing it's the 65 watt power limit. This CPU just doesn't offer much for the price, it's closer in performance to an i3 than it is to an i5-11600k

  • Well-rounded
Style: Processor 6 Cores
I bought this to build an office computer: word processing, web browsing, watching movies, and the like (no gaming, rendering, music production, or video processing). It works great for its intended purposes and I would highly recommend this processor. Since it's not used for the aforementioned other tasks, I can't rate it based on those uses. ... show more

  • Solid
Style: Processor 6 Cores
I recognize that there are better performing chips out there, but for the price ($180-ish), you really can't go wrong, here. I used this CPU in my roommate's computer build, paired with 64 gigs of DDR4-3200 Corsair Vengeance. It's being cooled with an Arctic Freezer i13X, keeping temps under 72C even under stress testing. If you aren't running a super resource-hungry program, this chip will serve you well in most use cases. It's competent in gaming, and holds its own in productivity and web browsing, with room to spare. I really have nothing to complain about, here. At the time of this review, I cannot recommend 12th Gen Intel, so if you find an exceptionally good price on 11th Gen, pull the trigger. It's a very good value. ... show more

  • Excellent choice if you don't need dedicated graphics
Style: Processor 6 Cores
If you're looking to build a mid-range system and either don't need dedicated graphics or are waiting for the prices of graphics cards to return to the realm of sanity, this CPU is an excellent option, especially if paired with a B560 motherboard. If you are planning on using a separate graphics card, check out the cheaper i5-11400F. While the upper tiers of the newly-released 11th Gen Rocket Lake have received criticism for poor value relative to 10th Gen and poor performance relative to Ryzen 5000 series, the 11400 is a solid value. It's a solid improvement over the 10400, and it is currently extremely difficult to acquire AMD processors with integrated GPUs. Quick review of Intel nomenclature: An "F" designates a CPU without integrated graphics. "K" designates an unlocked CPU that allows overclocking. So the 11400 is a locked CPU with integrated graphics, while the 11400F is a locked CPU that will require a separate graphics card. All Intel CPUs (even non-K ones) technically allow for *memory* overclocking, just not overclocking the CPU itself. However, previously, their B-series motherboards prevented memory overclocking, limiting RAM speeds to 2933MHz, and you had to buy an expensive Z-series board to use faster RAM. But with the 11th Gen, the B560 motherboards now support memory overclocking, thus improving the performance of budget and mid-range systems. So a system built with an 11400F and B560 motherboard represents an excellent value. If you don't need a GPU, or want to wait for prices to come down, getting an 11400 and using the integrated graphics is a very compelling option. ... show more

  • Great budge cpu
Style: Processor 6 Cores
Great little budge cpu ive been running for months now. High refresh rate gaming with 6700xt 144fps+ only downside is the crappy stock intel cooler which runs too hot if your mobo is automatically running the tdp over 65w. Doesnt go over 60 degrees now gaming with v5 cooler. would recommend!

  • With 32 gb of ram this build became my gamming and work station.
Style: Processor 6 Cores
I build this with 32 DDR4-3200HZ and z590 board and I have not had a lag or stuttering again when playing my FPS games: PUBG and Warzone mostly. Also use it for work: Visual Studio, SQL Managment Studio, VS Code, virtualization (docker/hyper-v) and I have no complaints from this.
