The processor is being used for virtual machines primarily and it is doing a great job. Not as fast as my gen11 8 core proc but I believe over all this will work better for the multiple VMs as there are more cores to spread across the many vms

This CPU is a monster. I have ran the X series CPUs for years and they have all performed great. My old 3960x from 2011 is still running today. The price is high, but if you want the best you will be paying a premium. AMD has a good bang for your buck, but when you want the best drivers and support go Intel. The 9960x will last me for years to come. ... show more

    • A Beast of a Processor!
This processor is much more than the average person needs in their computer. This chip is installed in a workstation which is used for large Photoshop files and video editing. It easily tears through anything that is thrown at it. I could not pass up the deal on the i9-9960X X-Series processor.

I've been really happy with this - it's not quite a threadripper but it can get you closer to one on workstation tasks while still maintaining a nice turbo boost for games
