I just put this up in my house as not yet camping weather. Easy up and down and having a removable tent inside a sun shade is brilliant. Caution when you are collapsing it. Beware of your hand placement! My thumb got caught as I squeezed the tent post to collapse. I was not hurt, learned to be careful. Easily fits back in its bag and though bulky for backpacking, it is lightweight! Will see how it does in the elements but I am so happy with the design and color! Great price too. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I ordered this tent as my 7 year old has asked to go camping. We will only be going car camping for a night or two, no heavy use is planned for this tent. I think it is ok for this application. In my video I incorrectly stated that the tent could be used without the fly but the opposite is true, the fly can be used without the tent as a sun shelter. Tent sizing is always a bit optimistic, I am 5'9" and wouldn't recommend this tent for anyone taller than that. Great for a couple of kids in the backyard or one smaller parent and a kid car camping. I think we can fit our family of three in here for a night or two in ideal weather conditions. I liked that the tent has reflective pull tabs on all the zippers plus a couple around the tent for easy identification at night. I also appreciated the covers over all the door zippers. The tent deploys quickly, just like the video. The stake bag includes several stakes and some rope. No instructions are given on how to use the rope or where it should attach. The rain fly doesn't overhang the door by very much, there is no vestibule space to leave shoes outside that would stay dry in even a light drizzle. My area of concern with this tent is the quick fold and pole system. It deploys and folds as advertised. In the video I said we noticed some twisting of the poles, later discovered to more accurately be described as lateral flexing at the folding joints, mostly the lower ones. There is also a massive amount of tension on the fabric below the central hub, holding much of the weight of the fly and tent from a single point. Fabrics of this type are very strong and rip resistant, all of the double stitching on the tent and fly looks well done. The only place I found loose stitching was on the stake bag, that said I wouldn't want to be dependent on this tent for shelter in winds or rain. ... show more

    • Setup, Easy...Durability, Questionable
I don't consider myself an avid camper, but I do go outdoor camping 3-4 times a year. I've been using a standard 3 person tent that you have to manually setup. Needless to say, I was excited to try this popup tent. After setting this up in my house, I have mixed feelings about actually taking this out camping. Setup is insanely quick. It does hold true to "popup" tent. You take the tent out of the bag, unfold the legs, pull the top up, and presto, up it goes. I was able to setup this tent by myself in a few minutes. It also packs away just as easy. I was able to do that myself as well. It's also pretty easy to stuff back in the zippered bag it comes with. Pegs are included to keep the tent secured down. There are 2 doors, with dual zippers, and "windows" to help with ventilation. You can enter/exit on either side. Since there's not much room to maneuver about, this is a nice feature to have if using with 2 people. Each door also has an overhang to shade the window. The rainfly doubles as a sunshade, if you need shade at the park or beach. (but you aren't able to use the tent without the sunshade) Now for the set backs. While easy to setup, I question the durability of the poles and tent material. They seem a bit mediocre. The poles and joints seem a bit flimsy and with repetitive use or strong winds, will either break or come apart. The material is quite thin, especially the floor of the tent. I always use a footprint under my tent, but even with the footprint, I worry that the floor won't withstand the elements and repetitive use. I've been caught in a few down pours while camping, and I don't want to find out the hard way if the material will truly keep the wind/water out. To bundle the tent, a shoddy piece of material is included to tie around the tent. Velcro or paracord would be a nice addition. Lastly, this tent is maybe roomy enough for 1-2 small adults or children. No way can this fit 2-3 comfortably as suggested. With all that said, I can't recommend this for a back packing trip or even SUV camping. It may be suitable for backyard type camping. For $80 (at time of review) you can find much better options. ... show more

    • Very fast setup and teardown
This tent sets up extremely quickly as advertised and doesn’t take more than a few minutes to take it down and pack it away. It fits in a nice carrying case that’s of above average quality; really I’d say the whole tent is above average quality. I found it was stable, even without using the included stakes and cord, granted it wasn’t a particularly windy day and you’ll most likely want to stake it into the ground. I didn’t have a chance to spend the night in it, but there’s room for two sleeping bags with plenty of space left over to stash your gear inside. It’s certainly a lot roomier than my Alps Mountaineering 1.5 person tent and makes for a pretty nice setup for a couple new to camping who doesn’t want to mess around with a bunch of poles, tarps and covers. It feels durable as well and should last several years of car camping. It’s compact enough to carry strapped underneath a large pack, as long as you don’t mind the extra weight. Overall, I quite like it - especially how fast it pops up with the built-in poles - and am looking forward to actually spending the night or two in it. ... show more
