This tent is top-notch with its high-quality material and sturdy stakes and poles. It's a breeze to set up, usually taking just about 5 minutes. All you have to do is unfold it, stake down the four corners, put the poles together, and slide them through the tent guides. Inside, there's plenty of room, and it's waterproof too. What's great is that you can set it up on cement without needing grass or dirt. I use it for storage because it's so spacious and fits all my stuff perfectly. I’ve had a chance to check out a few of the new “instant tents” on the market, and they really do save time by having the poles already attached to the fabric. This hexagonal 4-5 person tent by IDOOGEN, has a lot to offer and seems well built and durable and should last for several years. It comes with a really small rain fly that fits on the top, sort of comically, like a cap. I say that because I’m used to rain flys that cover all or nearly all of the main tent. I’ve done a LOT of camping and backpacking and well, let’s just say I’m rain averse, hahah! I have not tested this in the rain, but it may actually keep you dry. The floor is a bathtub style, which goes up the sidewalls several inches. Those are known to be an improvement over the simpler, old school design where the floor and wall junctions are sewn at ground level and seam-sealed. So that’s good, but the material is pretty thin and I’d advise having a plastic or tarp “footprint” ground cloth to protect the bottom of the tent from wear and tear, mud, debris, tree sap, punctures and God knows what on the ground. The mesh windows do permit a lot of airflow, as do the doors, which have separate two-way zippered mesh windows. The flaps roll up and are held by a peg-and-loop method. Full or partial privacy is up to the inhabitants. I really like that this has two doors. That’s a real upgrade and vital if you have several people sleeping in close quarters and someone needs to get up to go pee at night. I’m not sure 5 could sleep in this, but maybe. Four probably could. You would have to be “good, close friends” or family, since there would be little extra room and any luggage would have to be stored in your vehicle. The tent offers just a single mesh storage pouch attached to the wall near the floor for everyones’ phone, keys, wallet, glasses, etc. There is a plastic “sky hook” for hanging a lantern between two small mesh roof vents. The silver coated material inside the tent helps to brighten the interior and yet, reduces solar penetration. We were finally able to figure out how to attach the extended roof, although no instructions regarding that were included. Hint: The C-clips attach to the frame near the top of the door. They did include 2 sets of instructions for the main tent assembly. BTW, the QR code linked video only showed the disassembly, not the assembly and nothing about the roof extension. Huh?! The guy line tensioners were all incorrectly threaded and the knot had to be untied and then re-threaded through all three holes, and then the knot retied. They had only threaded the thin rope through two holes, leaving the middle hole vacant. Plenty of guy lines and thin metal stakes were included, so you could stake the tent perimeter and the sides of the tent with additional guy lines for added stability in the wind. Setting the tent up would be faster, the more times you have done so. The first time may not be that fast. Same with taking it down and packing it back into the zippered carry bag. It all fits in the bag, barely, and you will need the nylon strap for the center mass of the folded tent to be compressed and reduce its size. Having a second set of hands really helps to push it all in and zip, inch-by-inch, when the zipper sides were closely aligned. This is a fun tent that can work in a lot of different applications. The quick set up feature may be perfect for those who don’t want to hassle with threading poles through sleeves at night at the campsite and just want to get inside. Having two doors really is a huge bonus. The detachable roof extensions’ value is debatable. It might be nice if you were in the open and the sun was beating down. If you left the roof extension, 4 guy lines, 4 poles, and 4 stakes at home to save weight, you might save 3 pounds, not sure. If given the option, I would opt for using a much, much larger lightweight fly with corner grommets, like a 20’ x 20’ or even a 30’ x 30’. That way I could cover the tent entirely and extend it out well beyond the tent, supported by the same 4 poles and 4 guy lines on the corners. Having all that shade surrounding the tent under the fly would be great for cooling, with generous air flow and excellent, no-worry water repellency. The total weight as-is, is 14.3 lbs, not light, but not too bad either. A large, additional fly would add some weight, but you could ditch the tiny fly at the top and the long roof extension. So it might be just a tad more than stock. Sewing is excellent throughout. The carry bag, roof extension, poles, guy lines and stakes are good, built to a price and should last for years. I am a casual camper with three little children. I bought this tent for our upcoming spring camp in a county park in California. As advertised, it is really easy to set up. The instructions come in both English and Korean. Additionally, there’s a QR code provided which gives step-by-step instructions. I am 5’1” and I am able to set it up on my own. Unlike cheap pop-up tents, this tent is durable, and even the extended part stays in place if set up correctly. I was a bit worried that the extended shade part might collapse during the night. However, if the instructions are followed, it actually stays in place. It also comes with a PU coating layer, two big windows, two doors, and two ventilation windows, which in my opinion, keep the inside of the tent cooler. However, while it is suitable for California weather, I am not sure how it would fare in cooler states. Additionally, I doubt it is completely weatherproof. Overall, as a casual county park camper, it is adequate to accommodate four people and enjoy camping. ... show more
