These seem to get a bad rap from people who simply don’t get that they work for different speaker sizes and may require some modification in different applications. If you’re using 6 inch speakers, you’ll mount them to the adapter using the the inner mounting pads. If you’re using 6 1/2 inch speakers, you’ll have to remove the inner mounting pads with a dermel or other tool so they won’t be in the way. I’ve seen reviews of both these adapters and different speakers that say these adapters don’t work. I put new 6 1/2 inch front door speakers in my 2011 GMC Sierra, and after removing the inner pads they mounted right up to these adapters! Bada bing, bada boom! Worked perfect, fit great, and saved a bunch of time. It would be nice if they had an instruction sheet in the bag to give people a clue as to how they’re used. Would probably eliminate the majority of returns. Just saying.

I am replacing the stock speakers in my 2008 Tahoe with JBL GTO629 Premium 6.5-Inch Co-Axial Speakers. The speakers were advertised to fit my make and model and they would if I simply wanted to use sheet metal screws to attach them to the door panel. However, to properly install them I quickly realized that I would need an adapter. The problem with the SCOSCHE SAGMHR634B 2007 to 2015 Select GM 6.5” or 6.75” Speaker Adapter is not that the product does not fit but that it again does not fit properly. Product Dimensions are listed as 8.75 x 6.5 x 2 inches. The page on Amazon shows' two different pictures one adapter that is 1 inch deep and one that is 2 inches deep. That combined with the incorrect product description is why I went ahead with my order. Photo shows difference between adapter with the new speaker and the original stock speaker. A one inch spacer would be needed to get the same fit as the original stock speakers.

They fit perfect in the opening of the factory speaker. You will have to modify it for certain speakers since they aren’t all made the same. If you have some knowledge in installing they should be no problem. For the first time DIYer I wouldn’t recommend it since you do have to modify it. I had to cut all the tabs on mine and use the outer tabs and STILL had to cut those. Definitely recommend them

These speaker mounts are absolute garbage/crap. They made them out of inferior cheap and thin plastic. These total fail to get on par with other speaker mounts like the ones made by Metra branded mounts. Between the 2 of them these Metra units are made of WAY thicker plastic which makes all the difference in their construction. The other brands are not such thin plastic. I was not able to tighten the speaker well as the material started to give. I also found the Scosche branded mounts to be such crap construction that when I added the top bolt to secure the speaker, the top bracket on the speaker mount snapped, not off, just snapped and was no longer qualified to hold the speaker. That was when I ordered the Metra mounts. I figured I was too strong on the first pair. As soon as these Metra mounts arrived I was a huge fan. I was not too strong on the Scosche units, they were feeble. The Metra mounts are legit, grab a set and see for your self. With the Metra mounts you can really crank down the screws on those Metra mounts and they hold up well, very well. Don't buy any of these Scosche mounts you will be disappointed. The Metra mounts... Buy them, they make your install easier and it sounds better having speakers securely mounted in a mount with substantial mass behind them, transfers the sound more effectively. These are a joke when compared to the Metra brand speaker mounts.

The plastic is a little thinner than expected, but the product served its purpose and it is a lot easier to use than trying to cut and modify the OE speaker to accept a replacement 6 1/2" speaker. Pro tip: Add some silicone adhesive to the door at the speaker opening prior to installing. Doing so will hold the speaker in place while you bolt in and also serves as an buffer to absorb some of the vibration of the speaker once installed. It's not necessary to use the product, but it's cheap insurance to prevent problems down the road.

These fit my 2013 Cruze perfectly. They're much thinner and flimsier than the factory ones but they work just fine. Be careful with the screws and you'll be okay. Tighten them too quickly or torque them too tight and they'll strip out. You might also want to use a thicker screw. The ones that came with my Kicker speakers were a little small. They still worked, but not as secure as I would have preferred.

Do not see how these would fit any 6.5 to 6.75 speakers the distance between inside tabs is only 5.0 " the external diameter is 6.25". By speakers are 6.5 and They stick up about 3/4 of an inch above the surface where they are to be secured.. I will try and grind out all the internal tabs and see if they are usable. They are chintzy and include no instructions or screws. Beware. Up date: I was able to rig these to fit. Broke out all the interior tabs and dremelled them smooth. Used small nut and bolts to connect them to the only 4 connection points that would fit. These were for 6.5 inch Pyle speakers. The adaptors appear to have neen made, primarily for much smaller speakers than the sizes stated.

Like others who have reviewed this item I needed to trim the inside tabs to fit my 6.5" speakers. This is because these adaptors are made for a WIDE variety of brands and styles from 5.75"-6.75", which is a good thing for the consumer. Tabs were easy to remove and my speakers then fit and installed without event. Will recommend to anyone with a newer model GM who is looking to upgrade the speakers.
