The wire is fine. Hard to strip with a knife. Clear coverings are easier. I kept cutting too many copper strands. Not good. I misplaced my wire strippers. With those, I'm sure they would strip just fine. If you're going to string this along a wall to rear speakers, don't buy. Instead, use clear coverings with just a raised rib or black stripe.
