If you are on the fence about this camera, you should just do it. After having and still owning drones for video, a handful of gopro versions, digital sLR’s I can honestly say this is the best camera for content I have ever owned and it cost me a little over $400 . :) The good: amazing picture quality, no missing the shot if the camera is on and you saw it you have it. Great stabilization, ok battery time about 30-40 minutes (don’t believe anyone that says hours) it’s a 360 cam and a action cam in one. The software is really easy The bad : let me first say I love it.. the lens are easy to damage setting the camera down the lense glass is always in contact with something, the file size is huge 6GB for a 12 minute video, you can’t move this through wifi it takes forever and fails a lot, uploads off the SIM card arent for the inexperienced. Output file creation takes a long time, uploads to YouTube take a long time. Tech support is not great. Did I mention I love this camera? :) ... show more

Insta360 has made some incredible cameras in their short history but the Insta360 X3 has to be one of the best. They have taken some of what their higher end 1" 360 camera had (which I also own) and put it in a body like the previous X models to make a supercharged action 360 camera. There is something nothing else even close to this for its capabilities, features, and quality. Having the nice big screen is huge for action since you can easily change what you need to while on the go while also seeing what the camera sees, without having to get super close and squint like with some other competitor non-360 cameras. The footage and images this thing puts out are just fantastic and it is super durable as well. I will grab this for some outings before I will touch the 1" 360 camera, thanks to the X3's durability and waterproofing. Plus, the Insta360 app has been amazing, kind of like giving you a studio in your pocket for right after you captured your awesome footage. The Insta360 X3 has a new 1/2 sensor which gives better low light performance and greater detail, something that even the new GoPro HERO 11 does not offer. The higher megapixel count gives greatly detailed photographs as well, in addition to giving you extra space to crop in. Anyway, I currently own 4 Insta360 cameras as well as other action cameras and I can tell you - the Insta360 X3 is the one to have. If you don't want 360 footage all the time, the new X3 you can also shoot single-lens mode to capture just one direction, great for if you don't want to reframe the 360 footage and you just want to capture one direction. For all your action or any kind of on-the-go photo/video needs, the Insta360 X3 will check every box and, when combined with the Insta360 app, you will have a go-anywhere studio that gives you views, angles, and images that you cannot get with any other camera. I love this camera, as do most people who order it. This was my first venture into the 360 world and I wasn’t disappointed at all. The app is a lil finicky sometimes but it is doable. Here’s the cons: This camera overheats easily. Like it gets REALLY really hot, especially when editing or recording for long periods of time. Obviously this is not good. I have a friend who’s x3 just stopped turning on completely and was fried within a week of buying it. Insta sent him a replacement. Also the battery. I used mine only 3 times maybe and the stock battery died. Won’t hold a charge and won’t power up the camera. This is rediculous as I had barely used it, and had to order replacements already. I will contact Amazon and I expect to receive another battery. With that being said, it is a great camera for a good price, that will give you 360 video @ 4k 60. 4k 60 is vital if you want to take any professional looking video these days. Hope this helps. This was the camera I had been waiting for. The touch screen and audio quality are a big upgrade over the X2. It also feels like a high quality device. Updated: Support quickly sent me a replacement after my camera was received by their warranty department. Within 4 days of them receiving the broken camera, I had a replacement. It took a lot to get to this point but my support team (Ami & Ada) were always kind, understanding and helpful. Seriously, device failure aside, this was a great customer support experience. Also, the support uses online chat and/or email. It works really well. ————- Previous Review Unfortunately, my X3 stopped recognizing an installed SD card. The card had never been removed and was working fine. But one day I turned it on and it said no card was installed. Once the card was removed to diagnose the situation it read properly in my computer and on other devices. I reformatted the card to ExFAT but it never would work in the X3 again. I tried 6 other cards that meet the specs, were properly formatted and work in other devices. The X3 doesn't recognize any of them. It says that no card is installed. This all happened a day after my return window. I will update if there is any progress with Insta360 support. ... show more
