I requested this because I once had another IPL hair removal device from this brand a couple of years ago, which I thought was working well, but then I lost it during vacation. It was a bit different one, called ‘IPL Hair Removal for Women and Men at-Home, Upgrade to 999,000 Flashes Permanent Hair Removal’. Anyway, after 3-4 months, it definitely showed noticeable results on my leg hair, but I lost it during a long vacation (I took it because didn’t want to miss scheduled use of it) . I am planning to use this new one for my underarms because it comes with an ice-cooling function. I am familiar with how to operate this type of IPL (In fact, the design of this one is very similar to the one I had from this brand). On my first try, it didn’t bother my sensitive skin underarms. Again, I will have to wait and see, and this one claims to show results in 4 weeks, which is pretty fast for IPL hair removal devices I’ve tried. I mean, you can usually see the difference in 4 weeks, but it takes longer to more permanently remove hairs in my experience. As long as you are willing to commit your time and efforts, IPL hair removal devices usually work over time in my opinion. One thing I didn’t like is that this one is being offered with a 50% coupon, which makes me think the price is artificially high. ... show more

    • Good, but still feels warm on skin
I'm happy with this product overall. It works a little better than a competitor IPL tool I tried that was a bit more expensive and didn't have as many features. You will need to read the manual for use to determine how to switch intensity levels and switch between modes and such, but the auto and manual modes both work without a hitch. However, the product listing makes it seem like the product works by emitting a "freeze ray" that "chills" hair into submission, but that's simply not true. This works like any IPL laser - short, high-intensity bursts that can feel almost like a minor sunburn at higher levels. The cooling function, however, does allow for the tool to magically turn ice cold in a matter of seconds, and it is very nice to apply it to the areas which were treated with the laser. I also like to use it to massage my shoulders with. No idea how they make it get so cold so fast. So, this works as good as a competitor product, is cheaper, and has more useful functions. Having personally tried many of these IPL devices, it's clear that most work pretty much the same, with only minor variations setting them apart. When it comes to hair removal, the most significant discrepancies typically revolve around power (wattage of the AC adapter), ergonomics (device shape and button placement) and the inclusion of "ICE" functionality, which actively cools the targeted area during treatment. This particular unit falls within the mid-price range, incorporates ICE Cooling functionality, and performs reasonably. Specifics of this IPL device: ** Only performs hair removal ** Includes ICE skin cooling functionality ** LCD screen shows the number of flashes left and power level (1-5), plus whether ICE auto auto mode is on/off ** Rated for 48W (medium power for a home IPL) ** Oblong shape ** Rated for 999,999 flashes By utilizing slow-motion photography, I managed to capture a snapshot of the light lasting approximately 1/100th of a second (refer to the attached photos). Keep in mind that the duration of the light emission is extremely brief. When using the device, glide it over the area from which you want to remove hair, ensuring that you expose all the hair follicles in that particular region. Immediate results will not be noticeable. The light emitted by the device sends signals to your hair follicles, prompting them to cease growth. However, it will require multiple treatments spread over several weeks before noticeable results can be expected. Over time, you should observe a significant reduction in hair growth in the treated areas. In the box, you get the tool, a power supply, a cleaning cloth, a pair of eye protection glasses, a cheap disposable razor, plus instructions. Ice functionality is another term for "Local epidermal cooling." This is local cooling of the epidermal region (surface skin) in the region where the IPL light pulse is being applied. I discovered through this product that IPL is Intensed Pulse Light. Using other hair removal tools the disadvantage was that they grow back faster. I needed this for underarms where sweat and hair is not a nice combination. This set comes with good instructions to follow. The ice cooling function is important when you use a laser and definitely put on the googles when using this to prevent any accident. Any hair removal technique that is safe will take time. i would advice you time your ice cooling and the treatment conservatively. ... show more

I use this on my arms where I have lighter brown hair and it’s working well so far. Be sure to follow the instructions and don’t overuse the machine. It is comfortable to use and not at all painful and you can increase the intensity if needed to effectively get the job done.

Great deal Pros =price is incredible for these features =includes cooling =48w (typical worst is 36w) Cons =not gun-shaped so it's a bit harder to hold The features and the price are REALLY good and except for not being in gun-shaped this is a very solid buy based on 100s I've looked over.
