  • Amazing instrument and great value
I got this beautiful EWI at a discounted price during the Black Friday weekend, and I wasn't expecting much for this price. I had previously owned an Akai EWI USB and was a little frustrated for its absence of a speaker or audio output, which is addressed by this instrument by incorporating a 10-Watt speaker with a loud and crisp sound. Pros: - Very affordable, as other EWIs sell for 3-5 times the price - Very light and easy to handle and learn, with long battery life and beautifully built - Mouthpiece is easy to remove and clean and it even comes with a second mouthpiece - Integrated speaker with clear and loud sound - 2 audio outputs, one is 3.5 mm (headphone) and one is 1/4 inch (line out) - lots of high quality voices, my favorites are alto sax, clarinet and oboe - configurable fingering, though I've only used the saxophone one - Bluetooth input, which makes it very helpful for playing backing tracks from your phone during practice or performance Cons: - No MIDI, which for me it's not a big deal as I also own a couple more wind MIDI controllers - poorly written user manual, and instructions have inverted audio outputs, claiming the 3.5mm connector is for line out and the 1/4 inch one is for headphones, which is the other way around - no case, so I had to purchase a soft protecting case separately - the provided neck strap is ugly and low quality, so I ordered another one In summary, I am very happy with my purchase, and anticipate heavy and extensive use. This is in my opinion a real gem for beginner wannabe amateur musicians like me, but I think real musicians with more experience with wind instruments should stick to reputable EWIS such as the EWI Solo or the Aerophone. ... show more

  • LOVE IT!
Just got it today and have been fiddling with it for 90 mins! Its so cool! Back in the day I was a woodwind girl- could play flute/sax/clarinet and some oboe so was excited to see how those once good skills- would somewhat re-emerge. I was looking forward to all of the tones available while playing the same fingerings. This thing rocks. I know the market it as similiar to suprano sax- to me having played both- I think more akin to feeling like a clarinet. Learning curve for me is switching the octaves- as my hands want to go back to the same keys as a standard clarinet- vs rollingup and down. However in the brief amount of time ive used it tonight its better. I picked this one as I liked how the key layout most similiarily matched a real instrument- thus having a similar feel and glad did. This is an awesome instrument. easy to figure out really. just need to find a case for it. ... show more

  • I can't believe it's such a product at this price!
The reason why I posted it with photos of other products is that I already have experience using these products and can compare the size. I was surprised by how smooth it looked when I first received it But when I blew it, the sound was richer than the previous aerophones In addition, I think there are about 80 instruments I didn't think I needed a speaker However, I was greatly disappointed. I couldn't do anything because I couldn't use the flatkey and vibrato I usually use before So I thought it was a toy, so I locked it in Then, a few days later, while playing the aerophone, there was no suitable instrument, so when I played y8, the sound of various instruments was much better. If I wasn't familiar with aerophones or akaai ewi, I don't think it would have been a problem not to be flat or vibrato I think I thought it was too bad at first. (I think I can change the flat key to flute mode, but I think I need to get used to it.) If you're a first-time electronic wind instrument user, the sound of these great self-speakers will be hard to come by Enough Use Time Sounding Instruments I think are probably the best Christmas gifts this year The price is too low compared to the product. Finally, I wonder if I can change to a flat key with a firmware update or something.. I want to buy at least $200 if I only have a flat key and automatic vibrato At first, I was disappointed with the inconvenience of the flat key, but I'm satisfied with a lot of tone and sound quality. I can't speak English, so I posted it through a translator Please understand. ... show more
