We bought these lights as a replacement for our RV porch light that went out. Ease of install was not really easy since we didn't have any kind of tool to use to put the new light strip in where the old one was so, there was a lot of finger cramping. To install, since it says it needs an adapter, we just snipped the connector off and direct wired to the existing wiring. They worked beautifully. A nice blue color that provided light, but not so much as to disturb others in the park. Then, they just stopped working. We installed them around August of last year and they quit working end end of October this year. They lasted a little over a year before they died. That's why the 3 stars. It's says there is a 50000 hour run time on the lights. We didn't get anywhere near that. Maybe thats because we snipped the connector off, but I doubt it since they are 12v and our camper lights are all 12v. Now, we are going to have to replace them again. ... show more

Red Lights worked fine just be aware that these are lights only with no powered supply. They do have a female audio style jack for quick connection to power supply. I had also ordered some white lights with a power supply with compatible plugs to red lights. All said and done, I did do “surgery” to retrieve male plugs from white light order to connect both red and white lights to my already installed dimmer and power supply on my instrument panel. ... show more

All the lights work, but I have a couple issues with this light strip that may not apply to everyone. 1. The lights are spaced too far apart in my opinion. This is a matter of personal preference and what your project requires, but the image makes these seem more dense than they are in person. 2. They are a pain to connect cut pieces. I cut and soldered wires to the light strip and it was incredibly tedious. I had to carefully use a knife to remove the rubber to expose the copper terminals, then I soldered some 22 gauge wire to it and it was an absolute pain. I can't blame the product too much, because I'm sure not everyone will need to do this and I'm not the best at soldering, but I've seen light strips that have a much easier connection system. 3. The adhesive is pretty weak, so I had to glue/tape the ends to keep it from peeling off. Other than that, they are very bright, true to color, and they all worked perfectly. ... show more
