ANOTHER update, 07/27/26 I just hatched 7 out of 7 ducklings in this incubator. Ducklings are a bit harder to hatch than turkeys, they tend to hatch slower and you have to really take care to have the humidity right. I've been hatching duck eggs for years in my old incubator, but this one worked much better. A 100% hatch rate is great! All ducklings look healthy and fabulous, this was one of my best hatches ever. As I mentioned previously, you do have to tweak it a bit due to the humidity reading being different than the actual humidity, so I adjusted for that. But I'm very pleased with this incubator's performance this summer. I have plenty of turkeys and ducks now! It was definitely worth the money and I am all done hatching birds for this year. UPDATE: All 6 of my turkey eggs hatched BEAUTIFULLY. Perfect, perfect hatch. I originally had a 7th egg but it was not fertilized. But all 6 of the 6 eggs hatched exactly on time and in perfect health. The incubator worked great. BUT one thing, just as someone else posted in the reviews, I agree that the humidity is OFF by 10. I put 2 different hygrometers (humidity meters) in to verify if the humidity was correct. I also put in thermometers to verify temperature. The HEAT reading on the incubator was correct. The humidity - both of my hygrometers indicated - was indeed 10 LOWER than what the incubator registered. So, if the incubator display said 60, I knew the humidity was really 50. I aimed to keep my humidity levels correct by maintaining it at 10 higher. For example, if your eggs need 50% humidity keep moisture levels so the incubator reads 60% because it's really 50%. It worked PERFECTLY. All birds hatched on Day 28 (perfect for my breed of turkeys) and all hatched out healthily. If humidity is too high they can be sluggish, etc. Too low and the egg membrane can dry out and complicate the hatch. Wrong humidity can even kill your birdies in some cases, it can reduce your hatch rate - I've known people who had lots of expensive eggs and NONE hatched because they didn't use moisture in incubator. So you don't have to get it perfect but do aim to monitor the levels somewhat, I usually check 3 times a day, morning, afternoon and night. I keep the incubator on my kitchen counter, so we don't forget about it. Monitoring is as simple as looking at the display - too moist? Open the vent. Too dry? Add water. FIT OF EGG SIZE: As another reviewer mentioned, who was also hatching out turkeys, I agree. This incubator works perfectly for 6 turkey eggs. Any more and the auto-turn function won't work because the eggs are too big they hinder each other from turning. I have 8 Silver Appleyard duck eggs in now and they seem to fit OK but if you had larger duck eggs - say - Jumbo Pekin eggs, forget it, 6 will be your maximum to fit in for a hatching if you want to have the auto turn function, which is very good to have, in my opinion. This incubator would work perfectly for a dozen chicken eggs, as they are smaller than turkey and duck eggs. I'm VERY pleased with this unit. -------------------- I now put 8 duck eggs in and await their hatch. Will revert with update. I am hatching turkey eggs, but in the past hatched primarily duck eggs, we hatch eggs a few times every year for the past 5 years with reasonable success. I was using a different model which required me to frequently open the unit to mess with the humidity, also I couldn't clearly view all the eggs, which made it so I had to open the unit at times to check, which is not ideal. I prefer this unit because I can increase or decrease humidity without opening the unit, and it has vents. Also, I can clearly see all the eggs. I like the turn function and that it does it automatically, (my old one did too) but there is also a function so I can do so manually, which I like. I will say I'm not sure the humidity reading is correct, I put an agrometer inside it and it reads differently than the display, so I aim for a number between the two.

This is a great little incubator. It is durable with thick plastic, easy to assemble, and is the perfect size if you only have a small space to allow for an incubator. It holds 12 chicken eggs comfortably, but I used it for hatching duck eggs. Since duck eggs are quite a bit larger than chicken eggs, I played it safe and only put 7 in there so they would have plenty of room. Out of the 7 eggs, I only had one that didn’t develop completely. 6 of 7 was a much better hatch rate than I had with my previous incubator. The temperature, as well as the humidity stayed consistent the entire 28 days. And I can’t forget the nifty candling light built right in. This light is the best one I’ve had yet! I can see very well inside the eggs, which is something I always had a hard time doing with other candling lights I’ve had, and it has an auto shut off feature for the light in case you forget to turn it off.

Nice little incubator. With our first time using it, out of 12 eggs, 9 hatched and were very healthy and strong! Extremely easy to use... perfect for beginners. Used it 6 times now, and still works great.

I was skeptical at first as I have never hatched or used an incubator. The first time I used it, I was super worried about the temp & humidity reading correctly- I even put a hygrometer inside. First hatch was good. The second hatch, I kind of just put them in there to see if I would be able to hatch again- I didn’t pay much attention to the humidity. I had the vent open & only one bottle filled & it seemed to read anywhere between 60-70% humidity. I didn’t stress about it. I candeled them & took out those that weren’t developing, I lost power one day for about 4 hours so I was a little worried once I got it going again, BUT THEY HATCHED!!! I am so proud that I’ve been able to hatch & grow chicks. Even more happier that I didn’t really stress about it & it happened. Great incubator, I think eventually I’ll look into buying another one.

Can I give zero stars? I have had this for maybe 2 weeks… my bird is 4 days old. Yesterday it started flopping itself out of its nest inside of the incubator. I thought maybe I had made her nest poorly. This afternoon she just wasn’t chirping or moving much. I was worried she was getting ready to die. This evening I took the top off to feed her and she was white and shivering. The incubator read 91° but when I felt in there it was only fan, no heat coming from it at all. I initially had 2 eggs. She hatched, the other egg had a late death. Like that day because I candled it the night before and it was fine. This machine is a piece of crap that almost killed my bird and likely killed my egg after malfunctioning within 2 weeks of purchase.
