Description

The Incra's Guaranteed Square 7-Inch Precision Square features an accurate, advanced design and fabrication, and carves out a single monolithic blade from a solid slab of hardened aluminum. This means you won't see the alignment errors that can happen when a separate blade is manually assembled to a separate handle, as in the more common two-piece design. Solid, rugged and beautiful, the hefty construction of the 1/4-inch solid alloy body and the 3/4-inch thick integrated alloy handle just feels right in the palm of your hand. Unlike conventional two-piece designs, the layout angle of this rigid, one-piece body won't get bent out of shape when you drop it. The trademark gold and red hardened anodized surface is not only durable, but beautiful and it won't tarnish like brass. These 45- and 90-degree squares are so precise that they come with a certificate of accuracy that guarantees each one has an angular maximum deviation from nominal of less than 0.001 inches at any point along the full length of the blade. Set cutting tools to the perfect angle, while a support lip holds the tool on the edge of the work piece for marking and layout. Combine this with modern, functional styling and you've got a tool that is worthy of the most prominent location in your display cabinet. From the Manufacturer INCRA's new line of Precision Squares and 45 degrees are the most accurate you will find anywhere. We're so proud of their quality, that "Guaranteed" is more than just our promise, it's our name! Featuring advanced design and fabrication. Our innovative one-piece design uses the most advanced manufacturing methods available to carve out a single monolithic blade from a solid slab of aluminum. Unlike conventional two-piece designs, the layout angle of our rigid, one-piece body won't get "bent out of shape" when you drop it! Our trademark gold and red hardened anodized surface is not only durable, but beautiful and it won't tarnish like brass.

  • A beautiful & accurate piece of equipment
Size: 5-Inch
What a lovely piece of ACCURATE equipment! I just returned 3 Kinex Measurement squares (see attached picture - not even close to 90 degree), that said they were guaranteed to be 875/0 accurate (something like 4-8 micron accuracy), and boy am I glad I did. Being frustrated with the lack of accuracy, from Kinex, I did a little more research and found Incra's guaranteed square. Just like others, I was debating between this square and the red peckers. Sure, they both might be considered expensive, but if accuracy is your thing.... Today, I aligned my tools with this square, and it really improved my accuracy. Check out the picture of my scrap wood. Perfect 90 degree angle! I recommend Incra's Guaranteed Square over the red peckers... any day of the week. Heck, even the weekend, too. 😁 I really like this square. I like it so much, I bought the 7" version, too. Buy one, you won't regret it!! ## Review Update: 5 to 4 stars ## Compared the Incra 5" & 7" and they seem to be slightly off. Check pictures. Returning\exchanging. Hopefully the replacements are more precise ... show more

  • Great square!
Size: 5-Inch
I use this square for everything and it is absolutely FANTASTIC. People keep saying, "It's too much money for a woodworking square, but might be okay as a machinist square.", but what they don't realize is, any good woodworker worth their weight in salt squares machinery ALL the time: Their own machinery. Face it, we live in a world where you can't trust gauges on woodworking machines to be that accurate, especially in my shop where I have a love for rebuilding worn out tools into like new, well, finely tuned machines. So far, here's some of what I've squared, in addition to just 90's on wood: -Table saw blades after angle cuts -Initial table saw arbor adjustment (parallel to miter slot), subsequent fence adjustment for same. -Radial arm saw table to blade after new top installed -Drill press arbor to table -Mortising attachment for drill press (2 planes there) -Bandsaw blade to table (check for tire alignment AND table alignment to blade) VERY necessary for Resaw or veneer. So why do I use this square? Easy. The less error in my machinery, the less cumulative error is transferred into my substrate. The accuracy marked on wood is a nice aside and it's great to have a square that's fit for "double duty". ... show more

  • Beautiful and accurate
Size: 7-Inch
Incra did a very nice job on this tool. I used it to align all of my saws and now I get the, as close to perfect, 90 degree cuts I have been looking for. Squaring up a board is now breeze. The tool has a heft that makes it feel right in the hand. The design where it stays on the edge of your wood is also an added bonus. But can anybody tell me what the threaded hole in the blade is for? I cant see a reason for a bolt hole in a square. The price for this type of accuracy is more than fair. Now if you need something more accurate than .001 then be my guest and spen $250.00 or more. Since I am not building bridges .001 is just fine for me. This and the 45 degree version are a must in your wood shop. The only other item I own from Incra is the very nice bent ruler. An edge ruler with slots and holes so you can mark your wood on two sides of your work. It does require a mechanical pencil though as the holes and slot are by design very thin. ... show more

  • Immediate Improvement
Size: 7-Inch
Expensive so I gave value of 4 but this tool immediately showed me how off my other squares were. Noticed it in my first couple of glue ups this morning. Pieces fit together perfect with no trimming like I was having to do before. There might be comparable products for less $$ but I can only speak to this piece.. High quality.. Accurate.. and well made. Very happy with purchase. ... show more

  • It’s square, would like a slimmer case
Size: 7-Inch
Square functions well as a square. My nit pick would be for the hundred dollars I paid for this beautiful square. Is it takes up too much space in my drawer. For the price your paying should come with a L shaped case that fits it snug. Rather than a generic cardboard box that has copious padding in all directions. ... show more

  • Accuracy 100%
Size: 7-Inch
If you want accuracy this incra 7" is what you need. Sadly, I was unlucky to received mine with a top corner dmg but it didn't affected at all the accuracy in my opinion.

  • Square is Square
Size: 7-Inch
I've found this square to be truly square. Perhaps I don't have anything to measure it against, but it surely tells me that my saw fences & blades are square to their table tops. Everything is showing up as a perfect 90* I can't ask for anything more than that. I, as other reviewers, don't know why there is a threaded hole in the blade of this square. I surely won't be hanging it by that hole (nor any other means). This puppy will remain in the safety of its original packaging. There is foam below and above the square when it is in its box. And the box itself is pretty sturdy too. Would I recommend this item? You betcha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ... show more
