    • Unintuitive timer controls & unclear instructions
This is inexpensive and works ok, albeit slowly, to hear a small pool. It's kind of oddly designed, and the unintuitive timer controls aren't helped by the badly written and unclear instructions. Few things: 1) the instructions say it's powered immediately after power on, but it seems to require the timer to be activated first. 2) the timer controls are weird - there are +/- buttons, but you have to hold down one button to go into "edit mode", then change each digit of the timer. This wasn't super obvious to me, and the instructions aren't clear. As a result, the first few times I used it, I couldn't change the timer from the default 21 minutes, which isn't enough time to heat anything except maybe a tiny container of water. 3) the status LED is hard to see while submerged, and since pulling it out of the water is ill advised, it can be hard to be sure if it's powered / working. ... show more

    • Terrible instructions
This item has to be sideways laying on the bottom in order to actually work. Nowhere in the instructions does it say this. I had it suspended in the middle of my hot tub completely submerged For 12 hours because my hot tub is a blow up easy tub and I didn't want it to burn a hole and it didn't even turn on, I laid it on the bottom sideways and within 6 hours the hot tub was hot. Somehow it doesn't burn holes in the plastic I don't get it but I really like it now that I figured out how to use it. ... show more

I bought this item two times. It worked as expected for several months, but broke. First one just stopped working. Second one almost burnt. It got too hot, smelled bad, and its cord melt.

I have exceptional bone and cartilage disease. Losing my last hot tub was rough: it really is the therapy free of substance. 5 yrs later, and a move, I get another hot tub, I would’ve kept the old knowing this product existed. By regulating the temp with this product, I saved and cleaned my existing heat element and pump. With this product, I will look for tubs and small pools: the heat and simplicity value is a fantastic prologue to maintaining functional heated-water therapy. ... show more

The heating element burned out after 2 1/2 months. I used it 5 times a week for an hour a day. Loved the timer, but probably not for someone who wants to use it regularly.

Bought this after the gas was shut off to our apartment when a leak was detected outside. Filled a 5 gal bucket with water in the tub and put this in and set the timer for 25 minutes. It auto shuts off so it didn't get too hot and the water was perfect shower temp. Used a battery camping shower with a suction cup wall mount for the shower head and had nice hot shower. They couldn't seem to find the leak so 2 of us used this setup for many months and never had an issue with it. Great product! ... show more
