  • Amazing, but oh so small.
CONTEXT The TV console in our room was a coffee table we bought at Ross and for storage, we were using some straw bins. Because the TV was so low, we propped up the TV on a wire basket. It worked for a time, but I was so over our ghetto setup. I saw some DIY Cane dressers on Pinterest using IKEA's Tarva dressers. Unfortunately, those were out of stock, so I decided to purchase these instead since I was too impatient. PROS - Most of this dresser set is made of pinewood and if you know anything about wood, pine is not cheap. At least not in Hawaiʻi. Because it's made of pine, it makes these dressers HIGHLY CUSTOMIZABLE with minimal effort. - Aside from being very customizable, they look so good! - I appreciate that these are tall, but not super tall. The addition of the legs (which were also raw wood and stainble) made these the perfect height for our needs. CONS - The drawer space is TINY. Luckily, I try to be very minimal and thoughtful with my clothing, but if you are not that person, I would not recommend these. They are so small, it would honestly be best for a baby or a toddler. :( - The tracks are plastic, which is not a problem, BUT opening and closing some of the drawers is kind of annoying. I have to be very careful (so as not to tip over the dresser) and gentle when opening some of them. - The dressers are so light, that as I previously said, I have to be very gentle with them. It comes with some hardware to secure them to the wall, but we're not trying to do that. - For the price I paid (I think around $70), these are not worth it. BUT if you were to get these at an actual IKEA store, it would definitely be worth it. TIPS - We ordered separate legs, also off Amazon, to add to these to not only elevate the height but the look and feel. - The underneath/bottom of these dressers are HOLLOW. So, if you want to add the legs, you'll need to add a base, as we did. - Obviously, there are two of the RAST IKEA dressers put together. We built a base for them on the bottom, to secure the two together, but in addition, we also bolted the two dressers together. This helped make them look more seamless and as if they were once piece. OVERALL Though it seems like there are a lot of cons to these (just being honest), I still love them very much. We are so stoked at how they came out (so far). They've definitely elevated the look and feel of our room and we appreciate that so much. ... show more

  • Double the Price of Ikea
Ikea has it for half this price. Missing screws and bad directions. I did get it together after hours of work and a knob that split in half. Save your Money,

  • GREAT CHEST - STINKER OF A PRICE!
Really great piece of CHILDREN'S FURNITURE. Make no mistake, this is the cheep children's chest, the worst Ikea does, sold in this case, for the price of the far better full size IKEA three drawer pine chest for grownups. Check the dimensions before you buy. Compare with IKEA direct sale, and you will see this is nearly a bait and switch. Nearly a misleading offer. So, as it has been said-- Let the buyer beware!! ... show more

  • Perfect size and so much more convenient!
Yes, I am aware that this dresser costs less in the IKEA stores. No, we do not live near an IKEA. However, this dresser was the perfect size for what I was looking for. We moved into a much larger house and needed larger bedside tables. I looked for months and couldn't find anything that I liked or wanted to pay $100's for. After looking on Pinterest I found that these little dressers made perfect nightstands with endless possibilities for personalizing them. We chose to stain them to match the floors in the house and I painted the knobs white until I choose new drawer pulls. They hold everything you would want to put in a nightstand and more and they are very sturdy. I am going to be adding some mid-century style feet to them for a little height and a little more oomph, but no complaints from us! ... show more

  • It’s cute, but it’s not perfect. *Missing pieces*
This dresser is getting 3 starts because it’s cute. That’s it. I’m saddened for a few reasons. Reason 1: it didn’t come with any drawer pulls. I got the screws, but no knobs. Reason 2: one of the side drawer pieces didn’t line up correctly and the bottom part of the drawer doesn’t lay flat, causing other holes not to line up, so I couldn’t even put the side screw in for support. Reason 3: 2 of the little metal round pieces you pop in and turn to tighten, broke while I was tightening them... Reason 4: Once built, you can physically see that the drawers are crooked? I did everything correct, used the right tools and correct screws. Something just doesn’t add up with it. My pictures are in order with the reasons listed. I’ll keep it because I need this dresser for our upcoming baby. ... show more

  • When Drawer Knobs Attack
First, this dresser is NOT from IKEA Sweden; it was made in Brazil of unfinished pine wood. The frame went together easily per the wordless pictorial instructions. Problems started when attaching the Masonite (?) back panel. The panel is rather hard and the supplied nails rather soft and the supplied "nail alignment device" is useless. Nails ended up too close to the end of the panel, which caused it to split. The solution was to eyeball the nail locations. Still, it was touch-and-go get the soft nails successfully through the hard Masonite and into the soft pine wood. The drawers then went together as depicted, but there followed a crisis (and injury) attaching the wooden drawer pull knobs. The supplied knobs are wood, intended to be attached with long wood screws through holes in the drawer front. The knobs appear to have been improperly pre-drilled to accept the screws. Their holes were off-center and at an angle. Worse, even with soap as a lube (and drilling out the hole), I could not get the attachment screw to seat properly into the knob hole. I Attempted to pre-seat a screw with a screw driver, which slipped when the screw froze. I ended up with a rather bloody puncture wound in the palm of my hand. The solution, a set of six $2 metal knobs with bolts from the DIY store. The now-finished product is a bit small-ish and the unfinished pine could probably use a coat of sealant and "finish." Overall, two stars short of "excellent." ... show more
