  • It sounds amazing!
I wanted to try this interface for a while now and finally got my hands on one a couple of weeks ago. I've been trying it out ever since and honestly I really like it. It does sound just like a regular amp. I also bought the Dimebag Darrel presets on the shop and it sounds just like it. It's small and pretty simple to use. Technically just buy AmpliTube and plug it onto your device with the cables it came with and there you go. I love that it's also compatible with windows. BUT, that's where I found some issues. It works great for ISO devices and pretty much anything Apple-related. But when it comes to Windows it lacks a lot. Every time I found myself trying to use it on my PC it kept on messing with my audio. It disables all my other audio devices and it has a lot of static noise when plugged. Which is strange cause this doesn't happen on Apple devices though, so if you are getting it for that then really look no further. I would really recommend this for anybody that wants to try out a virtual amp. If you want to invest some more and buy yourself the pedal instead of just the interface I'm pretty sure you will enjoy it way more. ... show more

  • Studio quality, small footprint
Got this so I can practice with headphones on. My sister has cancer, and I cant run my tube halfstack with EV 12L's, when she has her migraines. I have kidney failure, and we wonder who has it worse. Anyway, I got this to play quietly, and it does that. It's more of a studio interface, with 2 different usb adapters, one for new apple, and one to plain usb. It has 1/8in headphone jack, and 1/4 mono out if you want to use as a effect for your amp. You do have to buy effects additionally to this product which I was not aware of. $150 gets you all, and is pretty reasonable for the money considering what you get. I've had a real Soldano, Mesa, and presently a Splawn Nitro. and Amplitube software is waaaaay nicer sounding than Line6 amp emulating stuff. I always had lag when using other emulating toys, like the playstation 4 rocksmith. I don't with this. Garageband sucks with this, in my opinion. Amplitube is free and comes with one amp. You have to pay for more, but you can get Mesa, Marshall-esk, Fender, Engl, Orange, Vox-ish amp models. Then you have the stomp box models, from noise gates, to reverbs, delays, to even EQ's. Then cabinet models, several 4x12's from mesa to marshall to orange. even 2x12's. Enough on the pay options. I also use this as an interface for the strobe tuner on my Iphone. I can very accurately dial in tuning and intonations on my guitars. Even my Floyds. I have the full 'PitchLab' strobe tuner app, and I've used it for years on both android and apple. ... show more

  • Works as advertised!
Really nice interface for iPad and garage band app, I didn’t want to spend too much on my first device as a new player but for the ability to use with my iPad it was worth it. The only drawback for me is the iPad will not output to any bluetooth audio devices :( must output via 1/4” jack. Still worth the purchase though. ... show more

  • Totally worth it! Fantastic - unlock tons of amp sounds
Love that I can use this and have access to infinite combinations of electric guitar amps thru my iPhone with GarageBand and with the AmpliTube app. The iRig is easy to use, with the available connections I was up and running thru headphones in minutes. I now have mine hooked up to my vintage stereo amp running through bookshelf speakers. I had to buy a separate cable output from the 3.5mm headphone jack to RCA cables though. The plus side is I can now crank it up really loud!!! I took my guitar to my buddies house, and he plugged the iRig into his Bluetooth speaker. we got good sound out of it as well just for messing around in his living room. When you buy the iRig, you get access to the AmpliTube app. The sound quality of the app is great, it’s a bit complicated to use though. ... show more

  • The AmpliTube and TONEX are going to cost you extra be aware of that. I did not expect this.
It is great for travel and you want not take a amp. AmpliTube is awesome but does not cross between pc /MacBook and apps. I did not research this. Would I buy again yes.

  • Stopped Working after Six Months
I purchased this unit in November 2022. In June of 2023 it stopped working, in that, the guitar could no longer be heard through the headphones along with the recorded music. After attempting to trouble shoot the jack, headphones, guitars, permissions on the IPAD; it was clear that the unit just died. I contacted Amazon, along with IK Multimedia who listened to my complaint and assisted me in trouble shooting the unit to no avail. To my surprise, I had a new iRIG HD2 at my door in two days. It was a pleasure to deal with a real person and a solid company that backs their products. ... show more
