This is a nice cooler. It keeps cold decent. I like the locking latch. Some of the igloo coolers don’t have a good latch. This one has a metal hinge and locks tight. It’s seems like a good cooler.

Got a 70 quart to bring fresh local butcher's meat to a camping trip, no margin for under performing. Kept everything nice and cold the entire time. Surprised it is a effective as it is given it doesn't feel like it weighs too much more than a regular one. Definitely sturdy as it survived my older brother's driving habits, he has a habit of taking turns so sharp and fast that it'll throw a full cooler around and have heavier gear slam against it. I used this for the first time on a weekend camping trip. I had a 30 pack of beer, a 12 pack of water, and topped it off with plenty of ice. After loading it up on Thursday evening we still had plenty of ice when we returned on Monday. I like the screw on drain cap, and the handles are very sturdy. I did not have an issue with them, but the hinges on the lid seem kind of weak. We will see how they last over time. Overall a great cooler for the money. ... show more

    • We wish these coolers were NSF certified!!
My family has been using these in our retail outlets for 30+ yrs. They are great quality and we love using igloo. I wish they were able to get them NSF certified though. Also it is good to know that sometimes the craftsmanship isnt perfect. We have had to tighten the plugs to make sure they dont spin/leak. We have also had a few model lines have poorly constructed handles. The latest ones have pretty sturdy handles but the plug assembly hasnt been tightened properly coming from the factory. ... show more

Selected this cooler for a cedar ice chest project. After looking at all the comparable coolers I found Igloo to be the best suited for the task. The hinges and handles are attached using stainless hardware and the spout is easily removed by loosening the plastic nut. Also in my research I found Igloo sells replacement parts incase something goes wrong. They feel well made and insulated and hold ice for a decent amount of time, granted if you keep it in the shade. ... show more

Filled it with refrigerated and frozen foods topped with 2 bags of cubed ice from a distributor and headed south in some very hot wx. I did drape my sleeping bag over it and shaded it all with a silver windshield blind. The food stayed cold (frozen stuff was starting to thaw a little bit I had it packed in a plastic dish pan) ice lasted 2 days and i reused it on the return trip. ... show more
