There are many reviews suggesting adding a seal and fortifying the screws, these tips make this cooler a better comp to the much more expensive versions out there. Back out the screws and add your choice of adhesive or sealant and reinstall. The screws don't have anything to bite on in the lid (bad design) but the glue locks them in. Go to Lowes and buy foam window seal, 1/2 x 1/4 for $4.50 and it fits perfectly in the groove on the lid. After you get it started you can gently stretch and it'll sit down in the channel a little easier. You can also unscrew the lanyard, lift the lid straight up (hinges quick release - good design) and do this on a flat surface to make it easer. Pics provided. good luck! ... show more

I bought mine and used in the mountains for a week, still had ice left when I got home! For my uses it worked as well as a more expensive brand. I did as other reviewers suggested and added screws to the lid ( I believe it is supposed to pull out 🤷♂️) and weather stripping. The weather stripping did make it hard to close, so you decide if the little extra insulation is important to you. ... show more

This seems like a great cooler for the price. I bought the 72 quart and made a few changes based on other reviews. I removed the screws from the hinges and used some epoxy to help hold them in and then I added some m-d 01025 11/32” auto & marine weatherstrip around the lid. It fit perfectly and really helps the lid seal tight! I would definitely recommend taking a few minutes to make these changes and it will perform like the more expensive brands. Only reason for giving 4 stars is because the screws should hold on their own without needing epoxy and it should’ve included a seal from the factory like a lot of others do. ... show more

My husband and I read other reviews talking about the screws and many advised adding epoxy. We planned to do this and add the seal on the inside eventually to make it a little better but we definitely did not think that right out the box on the first camping trip it would just completely fall out. Very disappointed as even those this is a mid range cooler $170 is still a lot to spend for something to break immediately. Despite it breaking it did keep our stuff cool so I’ll give it some stars for that. ... show more
