It's tall but not too wide, so if you have things that can't be stowed sideways you might want to consider something different. We stored food (sausage/chicken skewers/vegetables) and a couple of cans + ice and ice packs; it was a tight fit but worked out ok. It kept everything perfectly cooled - in fact, we still had ice in it when we got back, 36 hours later. It's sturdy and served as an extra seat while camping. The description here and the sticker outside it say you can reverse the lid to use as a tray. Bought this to replace an old and well used smaller Rubbermaid unit when its locking latch broke. Really like this new one because its footprint is about the same as the Rubbermaid but is twice the height. Fits behind the front seat of our vehicle like the old one but holds twice as much in the same floor space. ... show more

We take this to the beach and it is small enough to carry (full) but big enough to get a few bottles of wine, several cans of beer and some food and drinks for the kids. Perfect for our needs. The lid is a little stiff, but assume this is to really keep it sealed. With a few ice packs in the bottom it stayed chilled the whole day at the beach in 35 degree heat (in Hong Kong) ... show more

I've been getting this cooler as long as it's been sold. Still have one from 2011 (beat up but still good ) use it in car, truck& at work. Can use as a seat (not stand on it)When the handle breaks off after a few years,use NEW toilet bowl flat top anchor bolts and drill holes thru it to secure. Can't kill this cooler. ... show more

    • I will not buy an Igloo cooler again.
I purchased this cooler again after my other one had the handle pull out of its sockets. I had much use out of the cooler and thus purchased another. I owned the cooler about 14 months when the handle broke in two places when I lifted the cooler after placing some beverages inside. I called the customer service and they informed me that that should be taken care of under a warranty. I sent pictures and documents to them. After 3 weeks of hearing nothing, I called them again. They told me they had my information and would send it to the people that needed to see the information. I receive a short e-mail telling me broken cooler is "out of warranty time scope." ... show more

I bought this cooler to carry in the car for drinks and snacks on trips and it works ok for short trips but doesn’t keep stuff cool for long. The big problem is getting the lid open, it takes both hands and feet to get it open, you cannot reach over the back seat and get anything out of it because you can’t get it open and when you do get it open if you push the lid back a little to far it pops off ... show more
