We were dismayed how fast a case of 18oz bottled sports drink would disappear between girls 18u softball games on a hot day. Not to mention the plastic waste. So we got this thing, which is great. I fill it up with 2 gal of ice water or ready-to-mix sports drink and the ice actually lasts longer than you'd think. It's not so large and heavy that it's a chore to lug from the car to field (2 gal weighs 16.5 lbs). Bonus tip: Since it's not huge or super heavy I hang it at eye level from the handle with a bungee cord on the dugout fence. This works well to keep it away from dust or falling over into the dirt. Bonus tip #2: Remember to pull out the pressure-release tab on the lid when it's ready for use. holds a complete small bag of ice and although the ice melts the water stays fairly cold. as a shore tankerman I'm in the heat in Texas 12 to 15 hours straight daily and this keeps my water reasonably chilled.
