This is my first 12V portable refrigerator/ freezer so I cannot compare to other similar products. Only had it for a couple of days so far. This fridge is whisper quiet and keeps temperatures very close to the set point. I had it set for 2C and the independent temperature monitor placed toward the lid reported a high of 4.3C, even while ambient temperature was 42C. Cooling performance seems good but the constructions appears weak. Insulation could be improved since the exterior felt cool to the touch even when the outside air temperature was 42C. This thermal energy transfer will probably result in the compressor having to work harder to maintain a cool cabinet. It’s a good thing they use a Secop. The metal exterior seemed like a good idea, but the construction is still flimsy. The metal handles seem to flex a little when lifting an empty fridge. My unit arrived with a dented edge. The packaging was all for looks and the plastic wrap and thin cardboard box did very little to protect the contents. For the amount of money I paid I would’ve expected to receive damage free product. Update 27Sep2020: The insulation is worse than I thought. The lid doesn’t seal. I placed a flashlight inside the cooler, and then closed the lid. Light shines through the edges, means there is poor seal. See for yourself in the photos. Update 09dec2020: I patiently waited for a response from Customer service and they came through in a big way. I initially had an issue with the lid not sealing properly, so customer service sent me an entire replacement refrigerator of the same model, which I received just a few days ago. I tested the lid seal using a flashlight placed in the chamber, and with the lid closed and latched, not one bit of light came through the seal. Seal was tight all around. I just got a bad initial unit. Also wanted to mention that I've been using the original unit in my Jeep since September, and have taken it along bumpy off-road trails. The handles and anchor points have held up very nicely and have proven their strength. Most importantly the refrigerator keeps the contents cool very close to the set point, within a couple degrees. Only reason not give it 5 starts was that it does not have ability to adjust the low voltage cutoff point. Other than that it is a great refrigerator. Recommend this a buy. ... show more

I received messaging this morning saying this was delivered. I was confused because no doorbell rang and no delivery person came to the front porch. I messaged the seller, then saw it was delivered by FedEx. Past experiences with them told me to check around the back of the house. BINGO! There was my delivery. SUPER FAST shipping on a product that will last a long time. ICECO makes awesome reefer/freezer units and I bought 2 of my own this time so I could stop borrowing from my friends. Spent many months looking for a camping fridge. I liked the fact that this is expandable, and because of that, will meet many of my needs. Ran it through a couple tests, and have used it on a couple outings. Its been great. Shoved as many water bottles as I could into it. Set it to below 32*, and it took about 24 hrs to freeze all but a few bottles. Turned it down to the lowest setting and everything froze after a few hours. So it takes awhile, to take room temperature items to a point where its all frozen. Turned it off and enjoyed ice cold(Frozen at first)water for 7+days. So well insulated. Used it to run to the store for food. Pre-chilled ahead of getting the food, and everything stayed completely frozen. Including Ice Cream 5 day camping trip hooked to a 120amp/hr battery. Battery was fine each morning, and solar topped it up each day. So Very happy, so far. Only drawback is it lacks a light on the inside. I new it didn't have one, but think they should have included one. Many others do. ... show more

    • This freezer is quiet!
I have been testing this thing for two days and I am very impressed, it is so quiet that I cannot tell it is running. It has been really hot here in south Texas this past week and this thing has keep my drinks ice cold. I have let it run for 12 hours freezing some water bottles and it did not run the battery down enough to activate the battery protection. Overall, I am very impressed with this purchase so far and will update the review if something else comes up. ... show more

I bought this cooler to work with a Goal Zero lithium 400 battery and a 100W solar panel and so far it works awesome in backyard tests. I'll take it out into the desert this coming spring but it looks like the combination should work really well. I can't believe how little power the cooler sips when it pulls down to temp, it barely uses any power. It's also really quiet. I'm fairly confident I could sleep right next to the cool in the back of my SUV and it wouldn't wake me up. The cooler seems well built and easy to control. ... show more

First, I just have to say, who the heck makes a cooler only in black? Anyway.... Seems to work great off 110v, finicky on 12v and I have to mess with it to get it to work- unplug, plug back in a few times, etc. Was hoping I could power it directly from a 12v 100watt panel, but it won't. Must go through a battery bank (again, 110 only, won't power off the 12v side. HEAVY... Guess that's to be expected, it is a refrigerator basically. Anyway, too damn big to send back, so we'll see how it works when we try using it camping. ... show more

I received month ago. I test it 110V 2day keep running. working great. also, test it 12V 2day it was no problem. after test my family go to camping 7day. without the solar. but, it was working great with car battery. made in China? German?
