    • A beast of a bass
Wow, this is a little monster. Tons of options for tones and things can get out of hand fast. Fit and finish could be better; there’s a small gap on the body where the bridge sits and there’s some sharpness on the frets (which I can file and most likely caused by climate differences from factory to vegas). Setup was good, I didn’t have to adjust the truss and intonation was pretty spot on. Slap is very meh and takes 'work'... its not as good as my sire mm v8 & p5r. This has a very thin & narrow neck with pencil point so something to consider. I’m not a fan of the recessed output jack, I have to actually raise the body to look at it when attaching a cable. If I tried this out in a store, I probably would have passed for something else however, it’s an all-around versatile bass so I’m keeping it… but it’s not the first or even third bass I reach for when practicing. I was impressed (for the price) with the quality of the GSRM20 and GSR200 that I decided to upgrade to a higher tier Ibanez. There is definitely a jump in quality (besides issues mentioned above) but this will probably be my last Ibanez for a while. If you’re not excited about the neck (and for the price, I would have much, much more preferred a roasted maple neck like my sires and stingrays) then check out sire marcus miller p-basses, they’re putting out some high quality for a low price (note the v series jazz basses have a similar neck profile as this SR600E). Sterling also has some good deals with their stingrays of which I’m really happy with my Ray35HH & Ray34H which are just a little more than this in price but worth it imo.. but not as many tone options which I'd rather leave to a pedal or amp. ... show more
