Features

  • Features: Ibanez PF1512 12-String Acoustic Guitar takes the guesswork out of finding an affordable, great-sounding acoustic guitar that's easy to play
  • Nyatoh Neck: The Nyatoh neck provides a rich mid-low end
  • Okoume Back and Sides: The Okoume back and sides generate a woody, warm tone when the guitar is played softly or finger-picked and provide punchy high-mids with a clear projection when strummed
  • Ibanez Advantage Bridge Pins: These pins are an advantage over old-fashioned pins. Advantage pins are easier to take out and easier to put in than standard pins. A special bulb-shaped end makes the pin easy to grip and also prevents the pin from being pushed in too far. Best of all, with Advantage, the pin and string stay put
  • Benefits: This guitar is extremely well-constructed, affordable, and has the pristine tonality and playability of much more expensive instruments

  • Great guitar for the money.
Don't be misled by the low price. This is a very good guitar. I have had Guild, Martin, and Taylor. The construction and finish seem to be top notch. The tone is very bright and the action is just the right height. Does not come with a case, but those are readily available. Recommended highly.

  • This is an excellent deal. Nice tone
This is an excellent deal. Nice tone, surprising volume, solid construction, good playability with the slim fretboard. As delivered, some of the strings were buzzing on the frets because the action was low. I adjusted the neck slightly, raising the action, which resolved the issue. (BTW, I always keep my 12-strings tuned two frets--one full step--low in order to relieve a bit of the string pressure from the neck and bridge, then capo at the second fret to bring it up to standard pitch. This has the added advantage of lowering the action with the capo, saving some wear on the fingertips while playing.) ... show more

  • Not as nice as my other Ibanez, but still a good guitar for the money
The other reviews are mostly spot on. Guitar plays nice, sounds great. Has a few minor defects, but nothing that affects playability, sound, or even overall looks unless you're really paying attention. I've got another Ibanez Performance 6 string, the quality control in the details is slightly lower here than it was on that. I've attached pictures...little things like a burr on one of the frets, a little jagged edge in the sound hole, and some minor defects on the wood of the bridge. But action is good, sounds great, and nobody besides me is any wiser. In most important respects is just as good as another 12 string I played in a local shop, only for $100 less. ... show more

  • Price is right!
I love all musical instruments. I have about 15 guitars and didn’t need to get another one but I couldn’t help myself. I’m too poor to buy very expensive equipment so I do my research and read tons of reviews on anything I am interested in. The most expensive guitars I own are all EVH. (Standard, Special, Frankie, 5150, plus 5150 iconic amp head and a Evh LBX III). The one kind of guitar I never had was a 12 string. I own a thin body Ibanez acoustic/electric and it plays great. So I took a chance on this 12 string. It arrived a day early!! Woo hoo!! I immediately opened it up to give it a real quick try as I was at work where it was delivered so my wife wouldn’t kill me. And I was startled at the feet buzz all over the next. Once I got home and tuned it, and adjusted the truss rod, I was all set. I really couldn’t be happier with this guitar. If you are a beginner or a novice, and are debating on buying this, don’t even give it a second thought. Definitely buy it! It’s well worth the price! ... show more

  • Very cheap and poor quality
This guitar is really bad. I am surprised that Ibanez made such a crappy guitar, usually their stuff is pretty good. It doesn't stay in tune and the intonation is off. I had to return it, it's totally useless

  • With Some Reservations For Those Unfamiliar with Guitar Setup
The Ibanez PF1512 12-String is well constructed in the body and neck. I expected some compromise somewhere to keep this instrument in the 200.00 price range. The compromise in my particular instrument was in the nut, bridge and strings. This is not really a problem in my case as I usually want to replace those items as I set up the instrument (I prefer to use a TUSQ nut and a TUSQ compensated bridge). As delivered, my instrument is unplayable in the upper frets because the action is set too low on both the wood nut and wood bridge (neck and truss rod were checked and do not require adjusting). On the lower frets, the instrument has good volume and a pleasant tone. I would recommend this instrument to a player who wants a low cost initial investment and is willing to replace items as needed. It may not be the best choice for a buyer who is unfamiliar with guitar set-up. My particular instrument may likely require the use of medium gauge string set to resolve the string buzz on the upper frets. I am confident that I will have a nice sounding instrument once additional setup is completed. ... show more

  • Very playable 12-string for the money
Pretty nice instrument overall. Nothing "world class" but very playable right out of the box. Laminated top so may be a little trade off on the sound for the strength and stability. Not all guitars get to live safely under the bed. Some have to "go to work" and a laminated top is not a bad thing in that case. Set-up as delivered was pretty doggone good. I may lift the nut .003-.004" at some point to eliminate a little ringing on the open, higher strings. But aside from that the action is very playable. My only complaint is not directed at the seller, who had the package on the way ON TIME. But good old FEDEX screwed up and left it sit for 24 yours in N. Mississippi and i missed having it for a performance. I bought it specifically to replace a guitar which "bit the dust" and needed a new one on short notice. So, the seller did well.....FEDEX not so well. If you need/want a 12-string that plays and you don't want a second mortgage on it....this one could be the answer. ... show more

  • mine was set up just fine. Tone
Got this dude yesterday. Tuned it up and ready to go. Maybe I just got luckier than some; mine was set up just fine. Tone, resonance, sustain, straight neck, low action; but no buzz, looks, all good. You can't beat it for $200. Of course, it's no Martin, Taylor, or Guild. That just ain't gonna happen for the price. Close enough for government work, though. I'm more than just a little pleased with it. Really love the slimmer neck. ... show more
