Description

The AEG, a compact body electric acoustic guitar with a slim neck has been well-accepted for its easy playability for more than two decades. Ibanez is proud to announce that the AEG series has been renewed with updated electronics and looks. The changes were based on the concept, “simple and easy control.” The AEG50N starts with a new preamp, an Ibanez AEQ-TTS. The small and simple preamp has only two control knobs, volume and shape. This at-a- glance tone control offers natural acoustic sound in the center position. It allows players to adjust the tone easily and enables them to go from low, fat and powerful tones to a bright and crispy sound while adjusting only one knob. A new easy-to-read onboard tuner with LCD(liquid crystal display) is located on the preamp. This AEG50 with Nylon strings comes with a simplified rosette, a binding and ornamentation on the headstock. These finer details add a sharp and stylish atomosphere to the guitar. Other features include a Spruce top and a Sapele back & sides body and an Ibanez T-bar II Undersaddle pickup which equalizes the volume from each string and delivers a well-balanced signal.

  • Fantastic Guitar!
Great instrument!!!! Looks great and plays like a dream. Perfect finish. Very nice sound quality with or without an amp. And the tuner is fantastic. I could not be happier. Believe me, you can not go wrong with this baby.

  • Our son’s second guitar
Purchased this as recommended from our son’s guitar teacher. This is his first full size guitar and I am happy with the size. It has a slim body which makes handling it a lot easier for our 9 year old and is lightweight. It’s beautifully designed and the color of the body is rich. Playing it as well is amazing. It has a built in tuner and can connect to an amp. My son was concerned about the strings and to his own preference they are all nylon strings. He is very excited to use it. ... show more

  • Good for a starter I guess
I just wanted a cheap guitar that I could drag around on camping and road trips without worry. It is cheap, sounds cheap. Sounds so cheap I couldn’t accept it. Better to buy a little pricier and get something I enjoy playing

  • Mighty fine guitar and awfully easy to pick up and play
I put medium tension flamenco strings and the sound is wonderful even when playing other music styles such as the blues. Purchased mine for 100$ less last november in a freak sale somewhere else when the price here was also 299$.

  • Excellent value
Everyone loves to criticize Ibanez guitars, most Who do haven’t played any. This is a nylon string guitar but it is not a classical guitar. The nut width is only slightly greater than a typical steel string acoustic, and there are inlays on the frets and markers on the top of the neck corresponding to the inlays. The tuners and bridge are the same as what you would find on any nylon string guitar. I’ve been playing this guitar every day since my wife bought it as a Christmas gift (which is why I am not a “verified buyer”). I like to play jazz and bossa nova, and to me the guitar plays easily and sounds very good. I haven’t plugged it in. It has a simple built-in tuner that works. It stays in tune and the action is fine for a nylon string instrument. For $300 you cannot beat it. ... show more
