The Artwood series is the embodiment of what might be called the Ibanez “modern approach to tradition.” Cutting edge woodworking technology enables the guitar maker’s luthiers to reproduce the sophisticated bracing techniques of one-of-a-kind instruments of yesteryear. While tradition is obviously the hallmark of the Artwood series, the company’s decades-long search for the ultimate in acoustic tone has contributed to design alterations that give Artwood a voice all its own. The grand concert body shape of the AC340, solid Mahogany top and shorter scale delivers a wide dynamic sound when strumming, quick response when finger picking, thanks to the light weight Open Pore Natural finish. Mahogany top/back/sides body construction creates rich, bright and balanced tonal character. ”Thermo Aged” tone wood, made by a special drying process is used for bridge and bridge plate for amazing response. The bone nut and saddle were chosen for its ability to transfer string vibration naturally. Ibanez Chrome open gear tuners ensure smooth and stable tuning.

When I unboxed the guitar the setup was way off. I first tightened the truss rod to straighten the fret board. Once I had the neck corrected I checked the string nut. The string nut was cut correctly. The string height was still too high so I removed the strings and removed the saddle hoping to find a shim, no luck. I needed to sand down the saddle quite a bit to drop the strings to a comfortable height. Once I had the saddle in the bridge at the right height I tried to use the original strings and they were brittle and the high E popped. I strung it with Ernie Ball Earthwood .011 - .052 Now this guitar plays incredible. The feel is great and the sound is amazing. I don't mean good for it's price, I mean amazing. Full sound, intonated, great sustain, even sound from E to E, great lows and the high strings don't sound like a banjo. If you buy this guitar you might need to address the string height issue and if you don't have the right tools or skills you might need to take it to a pro. The end result is so worth it. I'm so glad I didn't send it back. Now I can't put it down long enough to give my fingers a break. It's a great guitar with the correct setup. The way it plays and sounds now I would expect it to hang in a shop for $899 or more. ... show more

    • Lovely sounding and a joy to play.
I have never been so happy with a guitar purchase. If you a larger person, this instrument may be small for you. Other than that...I strongly recommend this instrument!

For the money it's great. Plays amazing, low action, smooth fret ends, holds tune. Great for beginners or experienced players who just don't wanna spend a bunch of money.

Good but needs a real guitar set up and proper strings. Great as a starter but there are better ones out there. Lower Middle tier (at best!)

It's a beautiful Guitar, the tone is a little bit tinny, but it's a good value. There are better Ibanez for similar cost.

    • Nice sound and look. Watch out for the neck buzz.
I love this guitar. Very playable, strong although it is light in weight. Nice sharp look. The truss wrench supplied is going to be needed. It buzzes a bit by the first fret. Have to find the right tension but be careful with the wrench and go easy.
