  • Great 5 String Bass; Great Price
Color: Mahogany Oil
Light weight; great tone; good hardware. Good for novices or experienced bass players at a fair price.

  • Cool bass!
Color: Mahogany Oil
Pretty cool 5 string bass! Like all Ibanez basses, the neck is thin, smooth, fast and comfortable. A little bit of fret buzz, but nothing a good set up couldn't take care of. IMHO the pickup is the weakest part of this bass, although I'm sure others will disagree. To me, it seems to pick up way too much of finger/feet noise until the tone is turned down nearly all the way, then the whole character of the bass is lost and it just sounds dull. I tried a couple of different replacements with mixed results and finally settled on a passive EMG - which cost almost as much as the bass did! Well, as they say, your mileage may vary... ... show more

  • Very Lightweight with a Great Sound!
Color: Black
For this price, this guitar is a great get. It produces a great sound and is very light for a bass, which I particularly enjoy as I move around quite a bit on stage. With the 5 string, it also reduces the amount of tune changes. I would definitely get again.

  • Worth the money
Color: Mahogany Oil
I have had this bass for a year now and I don't know how or why, but it is the best bass I have owned especially at this price point. I use it strictly for studio recording and it has the best sound I have ever recorded. For the price, it is more than worth it, it never goes out of tune unless a drastic weather change occurs. ... show more

  • 16.5mm spacing at bridge
Color: Mahogany Oil
Nice bass for the money…vey nice. Pickup super hot, neck is nice. Intonation adequate but not perfect. Only basic action/ intonation adjustment out of the box, neck relief was good. if you are a 4 string player used to standard 19mm string spacing this bass will be a challenge. Which is why I returned it. Too narrow spacing and not spec’d as such on the sales page. You may not have this issue, so otherwise super nice bass for 200 bucks. ... show more

  • broken pickup
Color: Mahogany Oil
This is a very pretty guitar. I love the natural wood. The problem we had with it was that the pickup for the D string was defective. That string was noticeably quieter than the other strings, when amplified. I am sending it back. I think I will reorder and see if I get a better one. The 5 string guitar might not be the best for beginners as it is a bit more complicated to play than the 4 string. I chose passive because it was a gift for my son, who is absent minded, and I read that the batteries on the active ones can give out in the middle of a concert, which would be very likely to happen to an absent-minded person who would forget to check the battery. I still think that would be the right choice for him ---------- Update: I returned the first guitar and got a replacement. My son is still noticing that one string is quieter than the others, when amplified -- this time the 3rd rather than the 2nd string. This time, though, he feels that the difference is not bad enough to return the guitar. To me, though, this is a warning sign of poor quality control. ... show more

  • Great Base
Color: Mahogany Oil
Purchased for my 18 year old son who felt he was ready to move from the 4 string to the 5 string. He seems to love it. He thinks the weight of it is nice and he got lost of compliments when he took it to church.
