  • Wow. Amazing desk. Do NOT let the two-piece surface deter you.
Size: 55-Inch Color: Cherry
I bought this for $250 in May of 2023, about a year ago, and it's probably the single best purchase I've ever made on Amazon. As of April 2024, this desk is now only $200. Foremost - do NOT let the fact that the surface comes in two pieces deter you from purchasing this. This desk is extremely stable and study. The desk surface is completely scratch resistant, don't worry about writing too hard on it and leaving indentions. Yes, the reason they can make this desk so cheap is because they can ship it in a much smaller box by splitting the surface in two. However, the seam is far back enough so that you'd never even remember that it's there. From front to seam, it is 18.75 In. Unless perhaps you're using it for large paper-based art. If so, then yes, the seam would be susceptible to leaving holes in paper were a pencil to forcefully run across it. I've never once had that problem, but there is indeed an indention. If you plan to use a computer on this desk as I do for work, then the value and quality of this product is unlike anything else on this website. Competitors of lesser quality are often nearly twice the price. The stability is honestly hard to believe. Better and much cheaper than IKEA for sure (I love IKEA, hard for me to say that), and I believe the standing desk at my company's office is name-brand veridesk - it's as stable as that if not moreso, even on carpet, at the highest level of elevation. I am 5'10" and the highest it can go is still too high for me. I have had it for a year, and have raised&lowered it automatically 5-6 days a week with no issues since I first bought it. I do cardio in the mornings before work, and usually stand until lunch and sit from 1pm-5pm. No problems whatsoever. Assembly was easy, though be careful about over-tightening some of the screws before the others. I feel like doing so improperly would make the entire thin desktop bow inwards. Loosely place all the screws, them carefully tighten afterwards proportionally. Great sized workspace, the cherry red is very stylish, great value even when I bought it for 30% more than it is now. Whoever engineered this deserves a raise, and whoever is selling it needs a high five. ... show more

  • Inexpensive Standing Desk - NO WOBBLING!
Size: 48-Inch Color: Walnut
The desk arrived at my house a day early. I took it to work where I’ll be using it and put it together in about an hour and 15 minutes. I didn’t have help, but it will go much faster with a second person. There’s enough hardware, and extra hardware. The top of the desk comes in two pieces. Most of the screws, except the ones to hold in the height navigator can be screwed in with an Allen wrench. I used a small star screw driver for the keypad (height navigator). There are four presets, which is more than enough for one person, and an up and down arrow. I don’t know what exactly the numbers mean, maybe centimeters, but it goes from 69 to 114 in height. The desk is NOT wobbly at all. I have the 48” one. It’s more than enough space. I do emails and cold calling all day, so I needed enough space for two monitors and a manual way to take notes. The directions are easy to follow. The legs are wobbly and won’t stand up straight on their own because they’re too top heavy, but once you get passed the 2nd or 3rd step then it’s good to go. On the bottom of the instructions it says something about don’t screw in the screws until they’re all started, which basically means put them in enough so they don’t fall out, and then tighten them. If you start on one end and screw all the way in then some of the pieces don’t line up right and you have to start again. The instructions tell you that you can hang the basket and hooks on any side, that it is up to your preference, but I didn’t know what my preference was starting out, so it’s nice you can move them after you’re done. For the record, my preference is to have the basket on the back and the hooks on the right, as that is the side closest to the door of my office, so I can just hang up my purse. I was really worried that the desk would be annoyingly cheap because it was less than $200 and my brother told me good standing desks aren’t less than $600, but this one is great. I had to add an extension cord thing to plug all my stuff in because the desk needs to be plugged into power to work, but it wasn’t a big deal. The basket can hold the electrical for the desk and the extra extension cord. I am very pleased with this purchase and grateful for the reviews of this product because they were all correct! The only thing that is semi-inconvenient is that sometimes when I’m holding the button to move the desk up or down it pauses, but I think that’s just so you get the exact height you want without it going too fast. There is a LOT of styrofoam protecting the pieces of the desk inside the box and you may make a mess of it where ever you set up, but I’ll take it since none of the parts were damaged or unusable. I do think this desk may be hard to transport as is, so it may be beneficial to take the table top off and transport it separately if needed. If you read this far, this is your sign to BUY this! You won’t regret it! ... show more

  • A great value - It works great for me - Easy to assemble
Size: 48-Inch Color: Oak
I've had the desk for a day and I'm very happy with it. In a nutshell: 1. Very easy to assemble. The instructions were exceptional. Each piece of the desk had a sticker with a letter. Each type of hardware was packaged in it's own bag with a letter. There are large diagrams with a diagram and the letters of the parts you need for each step. Everything about the assemble was well thought out. The kit includes two hex wrenches required for assembly. You will need to supply a Phillips screwdriver. A tip: Each part is typically held with multiple screws. Leave each screw loose until all of the screws have been started. This way the part can wiggle a little as you assemble the desk in order to allow easier alignment of the screws. 2. The desk weighed about 65 pounds. It feels solid I didn't find it rocked at all once assembled. Be certain to get the screws tight. 3. The desk lowered all the way measures 27 3/4 inches from the floor to the desk surface. Raised the legs to the top the legs measured 45 1/2 inches. It is pretty close to the specs in the listing. I would have preferred it lowered another inch but it's fine and meets specs. 4. The buttons are easy to store a height memory. The instructions are clear and concise. 5. The price is really great. This desk is not as nice as the one I have at work, but it costs about 1/2 the amount. 6. I purchased the Maple and white finish. It looks exactly as presented in the photo. It's really attractive. 7. I had no trouble with fit or finish. The desktop does come in two pieces and this does leave a visible seam in the surface. But, it is smooth and doesn't bother me. I have no nicks or other imperfections in the finished surfaces. All in all a great desk. Several reviewers have had trouble with the electronics. If my desk has any serious problems, I'll update the review. ... show more

  • *UPDATE* ---- Now a satisfied customer ----
Size: 55-Inch Color: Black
Update! March 2023 - SHW finally followed through on their promise to send me a functioning desk. The desk is great and it functions perfectly! Assembly was easy, but I fully recommend having a second person help you put it together. Now that it is set up and working I am very happy. I can see how the seam in the table might be annoying to some, but for me, it is barely noticeable. Overrall, I am very satisfied with the result, even if the process was a bit painful getting there. _____________________________________________________________________________ Original Review: I do NOT recommend this desk because mine arrived non-functioning and customer service was not helpful or supporting. Read on for details: I wish I could say this was a great desk and it worked perfectly, but I never even got past the unboxing. I was so excited about this desk and I am now incredibly disappointed in the product - but more so in the customer service. I was one of the unlucky few who received my desk with the motor not appropriately assembled. Luckily I found this error before I assembled the whole desk! In the attached photos you can clearly see the motor is not fully assembled and is just hanging loose. I have no idea how this passed any sort of quality control (or perhaps it didn't even go through it?), but the motor is very clearly hanging loose and not functional. I tried to see if there was any way for me to install my own screws to secure it, but the way it is built there is no way to get the screws in where they need to fit. After attempting to MacGyver it and not finding a solution, I reached out to Customer Service at [email protected]. Initially, they were very responsive and told me they were sorry for the inconvenience and they would be happy to replace the part. They asked me to provide my Amazon order number and a photo of the LED panel to verify the model of my desk and they would send a part. This information was provided and I have heard nothing since then. It has been nearly a month since I provided the information and I have followed up several times with NO RESPONSE from the manufacturer. I can only assume at this point that they were stringing me along to try to run out my return window. I was initially impressed with the desk, but the Customer Service has been so disappointing that I would not recommend purchasing anything from this manufacturer. It seems that some others have had better luck than myself, but honestly - save yourself the hassle and buy another desk from a manufacturer that actually backs their product. ... show more

  • Amazing Buy!
Size: 55-Inch Color: Maple
This desk was very easy to put together! I have had it for about two months now and I love it. It moves very easily, is not too loud and allows for some preset heights so you dont have to stand there and hold the button. I do not even notice the separation between the two desk pieces.

Very nice standing desk. All the parts were well packed and no damage occurred during shipping. The desk was easy to put together and setup. So far I am very happy with the desk.

  • Good cost, pretty quick and easy to assemble solo.
Size: 48-Inch Color: Black
I bought this desk mid March 2020 so I could work from home a little more easily (we have standing desks in the office and I had gotten used to it). I'm short AF and most set-height standing desks are too high for me, so I wanted a cheaper standing desk with adjustable heights that could fit me. The entire assembly process was pretty straightforward and I was able to build the desk alone in about an hour and a half with a few breaks in between to answer emails and do a little bit of work. - All the little screws and dowels etc. were packaged in their own plastic baggies and I got a few extra parts. The different sized allen wrenches that the instruction manual referenced were included. All parts large and small (eg the table top, legs, baggies of screws, etc) were labeled with a letter which was used in the instruction manual, so pretty easy to follow. - One slightly tricky part of assembly is that the leg with the motor doesn't stand up on its own, so I ended up stacking the packing materials up to keep it upright while screwing in other parts. Not an issue IMO. - I did also have to use my own screwdriver to get some of the tinier screws in (e.g. to screw on the control panel), which isn't a problem, just kind of a minor inconvenience when they probably could've made all the screws be hex-wrench-able. - Also, the table top really is in two separate pieces that you connect with the dowels that are included. I haven't really noticed the seam all that much during daily use, but I know other people don't like the way it looks. The two pieces put together feel sturdy enough; they both have 4 screws each to connect them to the side rails, so even when I tug on them a bit, it doesn't feel like it's going to come apart. It worked immediately upon plugging in. Controls for moving the table up and down, as well as setting specific heights with the numbers, were straight forward. - It's a little wobblier than the standing desks that my office has, but those are probably more expensive anyway. It shakes when I use the controls to move the desk up and down, and it wobbles my monitor a bit when I type. That being said, if your external monitor isn't 10 years old and on a piece-of-crap stand, you probably won't have any issues with it. Nothing is ever at risk of falling off. I have water bottles and coffee mugs and I'm never worried about them falling over when I move the desk up and down or when I type. To be fair, I am also tiny and have tiny hands and tiny muscles so if you're bigger, maybe consider something sturdier. - I have nothing to say about the longevity of the motor, since I've only had it for one week and I only need it at standing height. I rarely move the desk up and down. For my purposes, even if the motor broke today, I wouldn't care. ... show more

  • Very nice desk, (almost) perfect
Size: 55-Inch Color: Cherry
First off, I really like this desk. It looks nice and is built well, and it feels like it's higher quality than you would expect from the price. Here are the two things you probably care about most: Setup - It's pretty easy to setup. Admittedly, I've put together a lot of desks for home and work, so I have a pretty good system, but it took me less than an hour to completely unpack and assemble the desk. I was able to do everything by myself, although I needed help moving the desk. There are times during setup that it would have been nice to have a second person, but not many times. Motor - The motor works well and can lift a reasonable weight. I bought this desk largely because I bought a different, pneumatic desk without checking the weird recommendations, and quickly found out that it wasn't made to have 3 monitors on it. This desk is much better, and easily lifts my monitors. There are a few things that could be better. However, none of these made me feel like the desk didn't deserve 5 stars. 1. The motor is a bit slow. Others have noted this. This didn't bother me at all, but if you want a desk that raises quickly, you're going to need to spend a lot more. 2. The desktop comes in two pieces. Again, others have noted this, and I don't think it's a big deal, but it might be for some. 3. The power cables are not secure (I'm talking about the cables that came with the desk, not cables for my monitors and such). This one bothered me the most, and I think that if the rest of the desk wasn't so nice, I wouldn't have noticed, but since the desk feels like it's high quality, the cable issue really stands out. There are two problems. The first is that the cables are too long, so they either hang down and are easy to get your legs tangled in, or you have to find some way to secure them. I used tape, but to my point earlier, it makes it feel cheap and like they didn't think it through. The second problem is that there's a tray to hold the power adapter, and it is underneath in the middle of the desk. Again, it's easy to kick if you're shifting your legs. This one is more irritating though, because the tray is connected to the desk by two tiny hooks, so when you kick it, the whole thing falls off. It reminds me a bit of that old board game Mouse Trap - just a tiny bump and the whole thing comes crashing down. Similar to the cable issue, I put some tape over the hooks, and now it doesn't fall off, but it really cheapens the whole thing. If it wasn't for the cable / tray issues, this desk would feel like an amazing steal. Instead, it feels like it's exactly what you're paying for. But since those issues are easily resolved by just some tape that you can't see unless you're under the desk, I would absolutely buy this again and am very happy with the purchase. ... show more
