This is now my go to suitcase. I bought this for a two week train trip through the UK and it was PERFECT! I really appreciate that the suitcase part opens at the top so it is easy to get in and out of yet it also has straps like a backpack so that I could carry it when walking on rough terrain or in a crowded place. The backpack part is great for my laptop and additional screen that I take with me on business trips every quarter. It fits everything I need. I really appreciate that the two can be zipped together or kept separate. The suitcase (without the backpack attached) fits under the seat on the plane and also in the overhead of EVERY train I took in the UK. It has compression straps which helps condense the load. I fit two weeks worth of clothes and an extra pair of shoes in this suitcase. The fabric held up really well also. I checked the suitcase on my flight to the UK and it made it through just fine. The wheels worked great on all kinds of terrain and I put tons of miles on them on my UK trip and they still look great. My only issue with this bag is that with the wheels and handle, the frame is heavy to carry as a backpack. It was fine for me because I was only carried it as a backpack in emergency situations and most of the time I rolled it. But, that is something to consider if you are looking for a lightweight backpack. I also used the packing cubes and they were a good size. I have been using a different set of packing cubes for years but it was nice to have some different size options. I now travel with this suitcase and backpack combo everywhere. ... show more

Great luggage set!! Took it on an international flight. 3 airplanes airliner to island hopper. Checked and carry on. Luggage performed flawlessly. Very rugged and all features performed perfectly. Both bags zipped together easily even when full. The pull up handle and wheels are very convenient. Heavily loaded I dragged it up , down, across stairs and curbs with no issues. The backpack slides into the carry handle and holds firmly. Zippers are all very high quality and durable. The main zippered compartment has locking rings for locks. The other zippers also have openings that can be used as lock holes. The 3 packing bags are also very nice and hold items well. The back pack function for the main bag is great, comfortable and stable even with heavy loads. I would highly recommend this luggage set. ... show more

We travel a lot and I’ve used all the big names including Briggs & Riley and Tumi. Hynes Eagle is now my goto carry-on bag. Overnight or a week, it’s remarkably efficient and roomy. The bag is well-made and collapses to fit under bed or behind door during travels. Compression straps and integrated backpack are easy to use and work very well. We use compression travel cubes and they pack very nicely in this bag. Zippers are solid and have held up well. My wife bought a previous version to lug ski boots, jacket and helmet around. Perfect for that. I’m glad that it’s more understated than my other luggage. Less eye-catching is better in most parts of the world. And it’s hundreds of dollars less expensive. ... show more

This was a good and versatile carryon and personal item bag to take on a trip overseas. It had the advantage of becoming one bag so I could place another carryon on top of the combined bag. Especially useful when traveling with a family. The day bag was just the right size to take on daytrips. The only reason I did not give it 5 starts is because the zipper to join the bags was a bit of a chore to join and could not be done quickly on a pinch. It would be nice if it the zipper was just a little easier to join. I created a Bug-out bag/backpack for emergencies. I wanted the backpack to be on rollers because these type of emergency bags can become heavy quite quickly due to the amount of emergency items required. Furthermore, if you need to carry animals or babies on your back the rollers are nice to have for that reason as well. After trying out three other backpacks - this one was, by far, the best. It has amazing features that the other packs did not have. The overall size was a little bigger than the other packs (but can still work as a carry on in planes), the wheels are small and internal (so less likely to break off), the pack breaks into two packs, there are many different ways to carry the pack because of so many handle options, the pack come with 3 separate bags to hold clothing and toiletries or whatever you want, the fabric is heavy duty, the zippers move easily and the pack has many compartments. So glad I found this bag and had the room I needed for the many items that are needed to create an emergency pack. Thank you! ... show more

This is exactly what I was hoping to find. All 5 bags are well made. The main backpack has super sturdy wheels that are protected. It is VERY spacious with two water bottle holders and lots of organizational features in the outside zipper pocket to hold your passport and travel documents. The smaller backpack is the perfect size for a day trip and zippers to the larger backpack or has the ability to attach and go over the handle sitting on the larger back pack. The size, durability and look are amazing. I highly recommend this roller backpack! They really thought of every need you could possibly need. You can charge your electronics, whistle if you need help and tighten up the backpack making it smaller with the compression backpack straps. There's also a side grab handle. I LOVED this rolling carry-on luggage. I used it every week for the last year. It was perfect - large capacity but fit in the smallest place overhead. BUT - then - the handle stuck in the down position. I could not roll it and could not carry it because it was full and it was heavy. The good news is that i got some help to use the backpack straps on the rolling bag and I was able to put it on my back to get to my car. But I cannot fix it - so while the bag itself still looks perfect - it does not roll. I can only use the rolling bag as a backpack - which works but is very heavy to carry that way and almost impossible to carry another bag. So disappointed. ... show more

I have been looking for a bag like this for two years. I wanted to have the ability to pack as much as I could for my often weekend conferences or multiple week long trips with carry on only. I wanted the handle to be high enough to slip on a backpack and also be able to pack the backpack full of clothes or use for day trips. I was not expecting it to be stable when full, thinking since it had only back wheels it would just fall over. It stays up when packed full. I love the charging area holder inside the small backpack. The laptop area holds my Mac book pro, my notebook, and book, I the front pocket I use for my cords, and the inside mesh pocket is great for valuables. The main compartment backpack can be packed really fully And the tighten to reduce strain on the zippers with the clip buckles. FINALLY. My favorite the length of the handle, I’m 5’ 10” and the handle goes all up to my belt buckle when I stand next to it. Very easy to grab and maneuver. All in all, I love this bad and will tell everyone about it. ... show more
