It's a standard ball drone, just in a nifty unicorn package. This things zips around with out much help from you. Placing your hand underneath will cause it to go higher, but that's about the only control you have. This one is still working after a few weeks, and I'll update if it stops.     • A little puzzling Jellyfish

It seems like I may have gotten this while the product is caught in the middle of a refresh. The box that came in, really was not designed for the jellyfish, and there were no instruction nor manual at all. Having said that, there is limited "functions" to try anyway. So I charged up the jellyfish, pooped in 2x AAA batteries into the remote, and fired it up. Now, there is a recessed on/off switch on the jellyfish. Upon switching the power to on, the jellyfish will light up, and in about 2-3 seconds, it'll start whirling and fly upwards. Now, the remote control only has two functions, the button on the left vs. right. The left button makes it increase altitude, and the right button makes it come down. I am a little confused by if my jellyfish is functioning as it should however. As pressing on the left button, it doesn't continually fly up higher. It seems like there's either some sort of limit, or maybe the RC range is not that great? Basically it'll fly up, and then seems to lose its steam, and starts falling downwards despite still depressing the left button. Or if you let it fall a little, and then try to press and hold the left button to bring it up, most of the time, it's not going to really make it/do much, and will continue to plummet. I was expecting it to be a bit more, but I suppose it's a fun novel toy for kids to bring to the park. The construction seems decent, and can take some punishment when it comes to drops. The spinning blades are pretty quick when they're going, but touching it isn't going to cause much harm, so should be generally safe for kids as well. ... show more

I'm so excited to see something like this for girls. Usually its just planes,helicopters. My 8yo tried it out inside the house and it works well,just we will definitely be going to the park to play with it from now on. I saw a disaster in the future if she continued in the house. She had a little difficulty at first,but I bet once we go to the park it will be easier since she won't have me in the back screaming oh my watch the tv! Ahhh my pictures! Whoa the light fixture! I bought this, for a much younger kid. So for a start, it's obvious, I'd assume, from the packaging, but this is very much a starter drone. Very very cute, bright pink Unicorn, it would draw in any little child. What confused me, is that the drone I received, has no steering. The controller that comes with it, has a control on "power" that makes it go up and down, but otherwise, it just kind of meanders based on the current. There's no mechanism I could determine to make it turn left or right, or bank and pitch in any way. So you have one trigger, that controls it's vertical ascent, and then you wait for it to inevitably hit a wall of some sort. It's actually great for a little kid, but I don't think that adding a basic left/right control would have put it out of reach of a young child! It was close to being a star buy, but without steering, it just feels a little futile to fly it! ... show more

My teen niece was so delighted to receive this magical unicorn. She had mentioned something about how it wasn't cool that all RC toys are geared towards boys because all her brothers have one and she doesn't. I was so happy when I found this for her. She had to charge it before being able to operate the toy, which took about 15 minutes. Also, please be aware that you will need 3AAA batteries for the remote. I think this toy is best suited for outside as there really isn't any way to steer the unicorn. The lights were really fun at night! ... show more

I was very surprised at the speed that the blades went around on the top of the flying unicorn. Once I pushed the button in on the side then pulled the trigger the unicorn started to fly. With just a trigger, you don't have a whole lot of control over where the unicorn goes, but if you let up on the trigger a little the unicorn shows down so you don't run into things you're heading for. When my husband was flying his expensive mini helicopter my young granddaughter wanted to try it but we didn't want her to break it, so we ordered this for her.
