Definitely too big gor a normal lunch box if you were going to put in the fridge, but it works for my current situation. I could see a beach or picnic lunch packed in here and kept cold all day without a problem! Great quality, wipes out easily, waterproof inside. A little expensive but you get what you pay for.     • Medication still 38 degrees F. after 36 hours. I am so grateful.
If you know how to pack it, this soft-sided cooler is golden. After experimenting with various amounts and sizes of frozen packs and surrounding the contents with some old bubble-wrap envelopes for added insulation, I found the temperature of the liquid medication packed inside to be 38 degrees F. after 36 hours in this unopened cooler. The starting temperature was 36 degrees F. So the medication still had hours to go before reaching 46 deg.F after a 36 hour trip. It's important of course to put your liquid medication in an insulating sleeve or soft bag so it doesn't freeze. I really had low expectations for this gorgeous little life-saver. I had previously tried both the small Uline styrofoam cooler that my mail-order medications arrive in, but it couldn't stay as cold as I needed it to for the 36 hours I needed; and the "4ALLFAMILY Nomad Insulin Travel" thermos which I bought from amazon.com for the purpose, but it froze the medication solid within 2 hours (and yes, I used the insulating sleeve provided:). This "Hydro Flask Cooler Bag for Beach" is also lovely to look at, TSA lets it through with the frozen jell packs, and the airline let me carry it onboard as my "personal item".
