I was looking for a water bottle that would fit in the door of my Maverick pick-up and saw this one recommended. Although a bit pricey (although it did come down 20% since I first saw it) I thought I’d give it a try. It came in the day after I ordered it (thanks Prime), so I figured I would test its ability to keep water cold. It claims 24 hours. Well, it passed. I filled it to the top with ice, then filled it with water. 24 hours later, the water was cold, and after emptying the water, there was still more than 1/3 of the ice still there. Now that was in my house, and not in my truck. I keep the house at 75°, while it’s been in the 90s outside so the inside of the truck would be much warmer if I weren’t driving it. Also, the seal seems to be excellent. No leakage. There is come confusion with it though. According to the label on the bottle, “…cold stays ice cold and hot stays piping hot…” Yet, on the other side of the label, it reads “Not intended for hot liquids…” I didn’t get it for hot liquids though, so it’s no problem for me. I’ve had this for months now and it goes everywhere I go. Cap strap is especially useful when my hands are occupied. Keeps drinks warm or cold for a LONG time. I would advise purchasing a flex boot for any hydro flask because they do get banged up pretty easily if dropped or hit against something accidentally. ... show more

The bottle is fine keeping the water col, BUT, you cannot put it into the dishwasher which is a bummer because I add gatorade to the water, also a tricky spout, if you accide3ntally push it just slightly off position,, it becomes impossible to use the straw., plus do not fill to the heat, the cap has a thick rubber plug to hole the straw. Would not have picked it had I known, because otherwise it is fine ... show more

They hype is real on this product and I caved in to see what all the fuss was about. Ice holds okay. Definitely keeps ice longer than my cheap water bottle, but I was expecting a longer hold. I filled up the bottle with ice around 12 and by 4 it was half way melted. Also, I cannot stand that the straw doesn't touch the bottom of the bottle. There is still a good amount of water at the bottom that I cant use the straw for .. I have to open it to drink the remaining water. Its okay but I did have higher expectations. I gave this 4 stars, instead of 3, just because I do love that it has a place holder for the top while I pour water inside.
