  • Great mining case
I have tried many gpu mining cases looking for nirvana, and have left reviews of several. Usually, I compare them to my former favorite open air frames, but they have always come up short. I really thought Hydra 2 would be the same, but I really like this case so much better. If you are not familiar with closed systems, they can stay much cooler than open air frames. Like others have said, just make sure you are using powerful fans and to close any holes that might leak air. I am using 6 ASUS RX VEGA 64 with 6 hydra high speed fans in this case, and the entire system run nicely in the range of 68C to 72C. So do yourself a favor, none of those crappy quiet fans, please. At first my Vega 64 was overheating and I was scratching my head. Then it hit me, I was cramming 2.5 slot cards using 2 slot spacing. Triple fan GPU like Asus Rx Vega 64 are not dual slot, they are 2.5 slots. Once I figured out how to reversed the GPU mounting brackets, it supported 6 x 3 slot spacing just as advertised. SO CONVENIENT! Usually, mining cases are over priced ugly piece of metal with messy internals, not this. This is so much nicer with matte black finish and cable management. It feels really nice and is well made. Like others have said, Nanoxia really paid attention to details. I will be buying this mining case in the future. This has become my new favorite. ... show more

  • Hydra 2 - Good case, no rack mounting hardware included
This is for the Hydra 2. Good case, see other reviews and photos. Fits 8 GPUs as listed. 6 GPU configuration is achieved by reversing the internal crossbars - there are two sets of holes drilled, one set for 8 gpus on one side and one for 6 gpus on the other side. Easy to do. Note that if you want to use the pre-drilled holes for a PSU you will need a standard server PSU, as desktop PSUs such as the HX1200 - which I have - have their mounting holes in a position that doesn't line up with the holes in the case (I zip tied my PSU to the back of the case by threading very small zipties through the vent grille in the PSU; zipties included with the case). You'll also need 90 degree PCIe connectors to get the cables out of the way enough to get the lid on, unless you use flexible PCIe extension cables or something similar. The thick ones that come with a standard PSU aren't flexible enough to get out of the way for the lid. Fans aren't included so you'll need at least 3 of those - and if you're installing rear fans make sure to do that before you put the GPUs in as there's not enough wiggle room to do it afterwards. Finally, no rack ears are included, if you actually plan to rack mount it you'll need rack mounting hardware. With 6 GPUs it's heavy, not too heavy to pick up with some light effort but definitely too heavy to front mount - you'll need rails. Dropped a star because for a rack mounted case it's kind of lame that you don't get 6U rack ears. ... show more

  • Very tight squeeze and not quite big enough
This case is beautiful and the concept is great. There is one huge downside to this case. If you are using aftermarket GPUs with 3 fans they can be a very tight squeeze. I found that in order for the case to fit aftermarket cards like the ASUS Vega 64, it needs to be at least 2-4” taller. I only had 6 cards in mine, but I am not sure there would be adequate air circulation in the case with 8 ASUS sized Vega 64 cards. Ideally I think the case should be 4-6” wider. If there isn’t adequate space between the GPUs the fans are not efficient and it is difficult for them to adequately cool the GPU. I think this case is better suited for older cards such as a RX 560. If you are using larger cards with aftermarket coolers on them I would suggest going with an open air case. ... show more

  • well worth the $200.00
well built with a nice finish lots of room for cables , the motherboard in front is a excellent design a reset button would be nice but not really necessary , waiting for fan splitters only had 2 ways so only 4 fans ( got 6 of the noctua nf-f12 ippc -3000 rpm fans ) but moving plenty of air , it'll be a couple day before all 6 fans are running then i'll have a better idea . i put my hot running cards in , and this design keeps them under control , summer is here and i'm finding out which cards need a case like this , i was wondering if the venting on the sides was to much but seem to be working just fine so far , love how you can adjust the gpu rails , you can get the cards as close to the fans as you like or move them back a couple inches . i'll be buying several more if the price stays where its at . good job joe ... show more

  • Good enclosure
This is a good enclosure for the price.

  • Affordable High-quality workmanship, open build possibilities.
I am impressed with the workmanship, the case tolerances appear exact. It is sturdy and surprisingly light for its size, with lots of room and freedom for my builds, which are for GPU-based ML/AI, not mining. It's going into an SKB-style rack case.

  • Make sure you get a decent fan set up.
First of all, at a minimum you should have 6, 2k-rpm fans on the chassis I had to create another bracket to install 2x 3k-rpm fans right at an angle within or in the middle of the case pointing at the cards. It effectively reduce temps by 8 to 10 from 77C to 62 C. I also go aluminum mess grills in front of the fan blades. ... show more

  • Worth every cent, I got it for $199!
This case is a monster! I love the design and look however the amount of air pushed out thanks to my fans is unreal so I wonder how much air is actually getting to the cards. I'm going to be closing off a lot of the vents on the inside of the case soon to direct the air flow a little better. I'm still trying to figure out how I'm suppose to cable manage two power supplies as I don't have two power supplies yet and currently left it a little messy with 3 cards. ... show more
