I had to purchase the jacket after my H-D jacket blew out of my tourpack on a long distance trip from Houston to California. Prime shipping had it at my location 2 days later. The jacket fit perfectly and I love all the pockets. Leaving California I rode across country to Jacksonville, Florida over 3 days. The jacket kept the wind off and it felt very comfortable and not bunched up like some jackets. The trip from Jacksonville to Houston had 300 miles of rain. I paired the jacket with my rain gear and rolled without issue. Overall this is a stellar jacket. I plan to give it a waterproof treatment and wear it without rain gear. I'll post that update later. A good buy for less than $70

I have had jackets of the same good quality for much more. I am 240lbs 5'11 to 6' depending on what mug shot you are looking at. I got the 2XL and with liner in and wearing a T shirt it fits a tad big. With a fleece on it fits well. The sleeves are verging on too long but not bad. Its built heavy so feels a little stiff but II'm sure it will break-in and soften up with use. For me the placement of all the impact protection was spot on. Here is the one thing that takes my rating from 5 stars down to 3. I ordered the matching HWK pants and the zippers that connect them are different sizes and do not connect. So if you are not interested in attaching the Jacket to the pants this is a good deal. If you can swap zippers then its also a good deal. EDIT: Been working with HWK to resolve the zipper issue. We have been emailing back and forth. I have Sent pictures and they are trying to resolve the issue for me and any future customers. HWK has been very respectful and helpful, there is a little bit of a language barrier ( I assume Chinese) but we easily understand each other. I am very impressed with the customer service I am receiving. For the price point I would expect little to no customer service but this has not been the case with HWK. +2 stars for the fantastic service!

I did not have very high expectation, but was in need of a riding jacket for short period of time. I found this and read the reviews and thought I would give it a try. Well I am very pleased. It arrived well packaged, fits well, has a lot of nice features not expected in an cheap jacket. It is durable, comfortable, warm, and adjustable. Came with protective padding. I have ridden in some light rain and stayed dry. I have ridden in 40 degree weather with just a pull over underneath and stayed warm. This is a good product.

So. I tried a 2XL HWK short waist jacket last year, but had to return it because it was way too tight around my somewhat ample gut (50"), and it was too short at the waist for a 6'1" guy. Didn't bother trying it again in a 3XL... I'm so glad I stumbled on this one this year. I didn't know they existed in a longer style like this, but it really makes all the difference. And after reading other reviews, I went with 2XL again, because folks said these were more true to size than their shorter ones. Indeed it is. And geez - who wants a short waist if they're buying a cool weather riding jacket anyway? This comes down to at about halfway over my back pants pockets when standing, same at the front of course. Actually keeps the air out around the waist. What a concept! The pockets are ample and numerous. The wrist cuffs are, OK, but kinda cheap. Wrap-around Velcro straps like my old jacket had would have been a lot better, and more secure than the way these are done. There's only one thing a truly dislike about this. The neck. It's very uncomfortable trying to have it fully closed up, because the angle at which they seem to think my neck comes out of my body does not match reality, and that Velcro tab that sticks out at the left side of the neck just annoys the crap out of me when I don't have it attached. And I never have it attached, because I'm not a fan of being choked. I also smoke cigarettes when riding, and that tab super duper gets in my way. They really need to redesign that aspect... Then again, I'm not a fan of paying $250-$400 for a damn jacket either, so it is what it is. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it for the price. 4.5 stars I guess, but I rounded up.

I purchased this jacket along with the matching pants for my winter time commute. I ride 30 minutes each way with morning Fahrenheit temps between 25-35°. Afternoon temps are 35-55° on my ride home. About 80% of the ride highway at speeds of 65-75mph, with the remainder 30-45mph. I just rode for 30 minutes. My bike is a v-strom with okay wind protection, but it’s definitely not gold wing level. When I left it was 26° and when I returned it was 30°. Under the jacket I wore a cotton sleeveless tshirt, and some light jogging pants under the pants. With all that context, this jacket is warm, comfortable, and has excellent wind resistance. The vents allow reasonable airflow when it’s a bit warmer, but I definitely would switch jackets above 65°. The fit is a bit large, and can fit over a pretty bulky sweatshirt. I bought an XXL and normally wear that size, so a generous jacket indeed. 6’ 240lb rider. The Velcro and snaps work great, as do the adjustment straps to keep the jacket s ugh and not flapping in the wind. The zippers are okay. More on the value end and challenging to work with bulky gloves. It can be annoying trying to open or close a vent while moving, definitely pull over before messing with them. Water resistance is great from a mist/spray perspective. I haven’t ridden in a downpour with it. The overall value is very high for the price you pay with really good workmanship and quality materials. I will be upgrading the armor, but so far it is in the right place and comfortable. The pockets are excellent, ample, and well placed. They have a fabric flap that overlaps to keep water out. My recommendation is to buy it and try it. At this price ($60) you really can’t go wrong.
