Small, and very useful. Does the job, but there are a couple things to be aware of: 1) Don't use the hand crank like fishing reel to bring in the line while it's under load. The handle is not strong enough for that. Grab the line with your hands and haul your bow or gun up into the tree by hand...THEN use the crank to wind up the rope while it is slack. 2) The belt clip is flimsy. Not something I trust to stay put while using a climbing tree stand. Easy fix. I attached a small carabiner & string in the opposite corner from where the rope feeds. There is a hole for it already molded in the plastic. Now I just clip the unit right to my stand. It should come from the factory this way, but its not worth losing a star over. I would buy it again & recommend it to a friend.

I want to first start off by saying you do not want to crank the line in while it's attached to your bow or whatever you're pulling up, it is not meant for that. I think it's merely meant for organizational purposes, so your line is not balled up or tangled up anywhere. I usually pull my compound bow up with it while I'm up in the tree stand. First, I climb up into my stand while the unit is either clipped to my backpack or in my backpack while the other end is attached to the bow, not until after I've pulled the bow up by hand do I reel the line in.

To the other reviewers who complained about it breaking, it is not a fishing rod. you attach your gear and let it unwind as you ascend. Once your ready, grab the flat line, which is better then a lace because it is less likely to knot. When your unhooked and situated then you can wind in your line. I will admit it is a little louder then I would like but nothing horrendous. Now when lowering, attach your hook and unwind the line with your hand not the handle! The handle should only be used to retract the line with no gear attached

If uses a half dozen times. Once you use this it will make you throw away the para cord that you were using previously to lift your bag or bow into a stand. It’s just a great product that does what it is designed to do very well

Perfect as advertised. Great product. Replaces an older type. Love the carabiner. Clips onto cam of bow. Hate those little plastic clips. Clip it on your belt. I added another carabiner thru the included hole. Now I can hook it to my stand as I climb. Bought two one for a friend. First set got lost in the mail. Was ready for a hunt. Amazon overnighted replacements. Very happy with amazon!!!!!

Works good and is long enough for those times you have to climb a little higher...... update so I have used this for 2 years now and still works great ! I hunted in the rain and the next morning when I went out it had froze inside but still worked great was just a little stiff I love this when using my climber always have it with me .
