This hummingbird feeder is glass and metal, with the ant basin being plastic. The only outstanding color is red which attracts hummingbirds! And does not feature yellow, which attracts yellow jackets... It has an ant moat which deters ants from taking over. (The ant moat is the cute plastic upside down hanging flower with which to add water, and should scare the ants away. So far this year, no ants!) Other things I like are that it's attractive to my hummingbirds, well made, and BIG awards for ease of cleaning. It's simple to disassemble and easy to wash all the parts! Oh, and it's a great price. I could not ask for better. Well...there is one thing I wish all bird feeders would include, but none do: please add mark lines on the container, so we can measure how much has been consumed.

At around two feeders for around $20 (sale price) I consider these a great buy! The hummingbirds seem to really love these feeders, and gravitate towards them over other ones I have hanging. I think the red glass really attracts them. I don't know why so many feeders are made in the green antique glass. I have some of those, and I don't think the birds really spot them as easily. I know not to add red die to my sugar water mix, so it helps have the red glass. My only real complaint with these involves the bars that extend around the feeding holes, allowing the birds to sit while consuming. The problem is that when I go to refill (these are kind of small at two cups nectar each so I fill often with so many birds stopping by) the bars always slide out of the holes. It's necessary to turn the bottles upside down to fill, of course, so the sitting bars slide right out. They are also rather difficult to snap back in even when right side up, maybe because I need to do this out by the hanging tree so as not to spill. It's both good and bad that these are only about two cups each. Mixture stays fresher if you don't have a lot of hummers coming 'round; however, if you have a lot of visitors, larger feeders might help with the demands of refilling constantly. These do come with a lot of extra parts such as ant motes. Since it's currently winter and the ants aren't around right now, I haven't needed to use those as yet. Overall, the red glass is strikingly pretty and attracts a lot of birds. At around $10 a piece in the set, these give a lot of bang for your buck. I haven't had these long, so can't speak to their durability long term. For now, I recommend them. They seem sturdy overall. They also have large openings to refill which helps a lot.

Perfect hummingbird feeder. It was a Christmas gift for my husband who loves to watch the hummingbirds come and go. Quality made. Good value for the price. Sturdy base and wide opening on bottle to aid in cleaning. The bottle of our old feeder had a small opening and was nearly impossible to get clean, causing a potential health hazzard for the birds. The feeder has a resting perch circling the base, which the birds use while feeding. The birds took to it immediately.
