I initially thought I'd return this, until bought the dedicated floor tool from another brand. The difference in brightness between the green light the Huepar uses and the red light the other had was tremendous. Even in darkness the red light was not as visible. I used this tool to ensure the first line of luxury vinyl planks were in the right place, after the chalk line we made seemed to disappear. The auto-leveling was reliable, I used it on a high-quality tripod that I would level too before placing the Huepar on it. The thread at the bottom of the device kept it securely in place. As Amateur LVP installer, have to say the end result was excellent, partly because we had this professional tool to get going. If were a pro, would buy the 3 plane model with the two vertical lines. Very accurate! Very easy to use! I was commissioned to do an accent wall and this laser cut hours off of my day! Green light is bright. I like that you can lock the laser if need or use it as a plum line. Highly highly recommend.

    • Great Tool!
This is my first laser level. I'm not an expert with these tools, so I wasn't entirely sure how to use it. It would have been nice to have a manual or user guide of some kind. I think there was a little pamphlet included that explained how to turn it on and what not, but something that showed how to use the accessories included, or how to use it for angles would have been nice. This is the only reason for my 4 star rating. The accessories included are some plastic target device and a magnet/screw mount for a tripod I believe. The case included is nice for protection against scuffs and dust. If the switch is flipped over to "unlock" it self levels, which is pretty nice. I assume switching to "locked" would help with angled applications, but would likely require some kind of tilting mount on a tripod for larger angles, but from what I can tell the included mount doesn't tilt that way, so your tripod would need to do so. The included mount moves left and right/ horizontally, not vertical in anyway. From what I can tell with my DIY project the level seems to be pretty accurate, and the light is bright and will show up on walls and ceilings on the opposite side of my 2,400 sq. ft. basement. I would definitely recommend this level if you're in the market for one. ... show more

This tool is great for projects and just to play around with. Had a project where the floor was really out of level and we wanted to put down laminate floor. This enabled us to level it out and the floor turned out really nicely. After that project we had multiple projects that it helped out on. No more messing with a level to get items lined up. Really like the green laser line. Very easy to see. The only non intuitive thing is you need to put it in fixed mode before you can turn it off - just need to read the directions. ... show more

    • Works great, easy to use, get the receiver for outdoors
The setup was easy. I saw some had problems turning the unit off. If you make sure to slide the lock slider to the right position before turning it off, it actually turns off. This step is in the directions. The laser is bright, but for outdoors you will still need the receiver for anything but close measuring. The unit seems durable and comes with a mounting plate and padded zippered case. I used it the first day I had it and found it easy and accurate for pad leveling. ... show more

This laser level saved me hours on my dyi project. I was able to install a drop ceiling with 1/8" +/- accuracy. Easy to use, but did not survive an 8' fall from a stepladder.
