  • Maybe not for beginners. But, a decent fixed camera drone for the price.
This quad has some features and controls that remind me of the XK Detect X-380, a quad that costs twice as much, is much larger and boasts much longer flying time. Some advantages this Pro version has are 1) a few automatic features like auto return to home, circle me and follow me. 2) self tightening propellers. 3) true RF 5.8g FPV with a nice bright monitor built into the controller. 4)full telemetry display 5) good control and FPV range. 6) with the right micro-SD card, the images recorded are very good, crisp and clear. Some disadvantages are: 1) sloppy fit for the controller battery, hard to connect, and have to use a tiny screwdriver to pull the battery every time you want to charge it. There is no built in charging port on the controller. 2)No apparent way to do any adjustment to the camera settings. 3) Because it's a fixed camera, the quality of your pics and video is dependant on how strong the wind is. 4) Sloppy firmware for the compass and GPS. The quad has to be recalibrated frequently to keep it on it's compass heading and GPS location. 5) No obvious way to do any upgrades to the firmware, software or hardware. So, you better be happy with it as it comes in the box. The manual is written well enough (except for the camera functions, which had to be researched online). The manual says that the exit button is used for stopping, starting video and taking pictures. You actually use the enter button for the video functions. The calibration steps for the compass and gyro are very similar to the X-380. A series of lever movements and spinning the quadcopter around are required to fine tune those features. You can turn the GPS off, which makes the quad much more responsive to the sticks, making more of a sport flyer. That is kind of how the quad is built, with it's race car appearance. It flies very fast and is very nimble in non-GPS mode. I have several DJI drones. And, I have a fleet of lesser quads. The only reason I bought this one was because I'd been looking at it for years and just decided to go ahead and get it, to satisfy my curiosity. But, honestly, there is one quad that I think I would recommend over this one, for the price range and how they stack up in a side by side comparison, and that would be the BayangToys X-21. But, I still recommend this one, based on it's own merits and think that it's a pretty good fixed camera quadcopter for the price. Four stars. ... show more

  • Rates a 5 except the Video has issues...
1st the good and it is very good, rates above 5. This is one amazing drone for the price point. The remote works well and does not require a cell phone (great for kids). The FPV is great, shows height, distance away, speed of drone, drone GPS, drone and remote battery levels and some other aeronautical items. The drone range is amazing, its been out to 1 mile away (we live in a rural area with nothing blocking, that is critical). The FPV is still working at that distance though a bit of snow is showing. The video saved on the card did not have the snow. The drone handles wind very well 20-30 mph with gusts, however it drains the battery quickly. Typically you get 20 minutes, with wind as little as 10 min and it falls from the sky when the drone battery level is at 5.2 volts. Only the props were damaged even though it was 83M when it fell. We used the remote GPS matching to the drone GPS (it was still transmitting signal) to find where it was at as it was 1/4 to 1/2 mile away at the time. Now the not so good, the video will not consistently work for longer periods. It will not allow you to turn if off and the file is then corrupt and cannot be played. Short videos work 100% of the time (2-3 min), longer videos (>10min) work 20% of the time. It has the correctly formatted Class 10 card with 32GB, with plenty of space available. If guaranteed video than this not the drone for you. The speed is not what is advertised either, it goes at 3-5M/s, not 20M/s. However you will be impressed the acceleration up is quite amazing, be careful easy to exceed the FAA limits. ... show more

  • Drone Fine - User's Manual Terrible
The drone itself seems to be a very good product, but the manual and instructions that come with it have a lot to be desired. Unless you are a seasoned drone operator, you will get extremely frustrated trying to figure out how to get started by reading this manual. It's written for American use and Japanese use for the controls, and they don't tell you until later in the manual that the controller is set to default in American. There is also a control function breakdown table that is poorly written and confusing, because it seems to be written for both American & Japanese control functions. This manual should have been written as to how to set up the drone in steps when you take it out of the box. Also in orderly steps as to how to prepare it for flight, and flying. I'm still trying to figure some things out, but I'm not relying too much on the user guide. I'm having to use the internet to find answers to most of the control questions. If this drone would have come with a decent instructional guide then I would have probably given a rating of 5 stars, but I can only give it 3 because I have to spend my time trying to figure out settings, control functions that aren't confusing, and other operations. If you're the type of person who has trouble following even well written instructions then be prepared, if you get this drone, for having a nightmare trying to figure these out. ... show more
